Opening:
Chair Sue Singer called the Lodging Tax Advisory Board meeting to order at 1:15 p.m. on March 19, 2009, at
Auburn Area Chamber of Commerce. Shelley Coleman introduced Maggie Coleman as the new Assistant
Finance Director.
2009 Budget Revision:
Chair Singer brought forth to the board the revisions to the 2009 Hotel/Motel Tax Fund Budget. The current
budget showed a Fund Balance of $32,600.00. The board moved funds from that balance as follows:
Under line item Certified Folder Display which had a budget of $9,000 and was raised to $15,000. This would
help to promote Auburn in written materials to British Columbia and Whistler during the 2010 Olympics.
Under line item Promotional Materials which had a budget of $20,000 and was raised to $25,000 also to help
promote Auburn during the Olympics' and Discover Auburn Week.
Underline item eCommerce which had a budget of $10,000 and was raised to $31,000.
Leaving the 2009 Fund balance of $600.
Shelley Coleman stated that there is an additional $4,000 that has been acquired in the Fund Balance which
brings the Fund Balance to $4,600.
Nancy Wyatt made a motion to approve the 2009 budget changes and David Kwok seconded and the motion
was approved.
The meeting was adjourned at 1:30 p.m.
