MINUTES
CALL TO ORDER, 3:30 PM, CONFERENCE ROOM NO. 3
Chairman Gene Cerino called the meeting to order at 3:34 p.m. in Conference
Room 3, located on the second floor of Auburn City Hall, 25 W. main Street,
Auburn. Members present: Chair Cerino, Vice Chair Bill Peloza. ' Members with
excused absence: Member Lynn Norman. Staff present were: Mayor Pete
Lewis, Deputy Chief of Police Bob Lee, Assistant Chief of Police Bob Karnofski,
Finance Director Shelley Coleman, Daryl Faber Director of Parks, Arts and
Recreation, Kathy Emmert, Police Secretary.

Agenda Modification to Information/Discussion items adding item G. Addressing
Update. See Section V. Information/Discussion Items
III. CONSENT ITEMS
A. Approval of Minutes
1. Minutes of the June 23, 2008 Municipal Services Committee
meeting.
Vice Chair Peloza moved to approve the minutes of the June 23,
2008 meeting.
MOTION CARRIED 2-0
IV. ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS
A. Ordinances
There were no Ordinances for the Committee to consider.
B. Resolutions
1. Resolution Number 4378* (Kelly)
A resolution of the City Council of the City of Auburn, Washington,
authorizing the Auburn City Council to accept a Bureau of Justice Grant
on behalf of the City of Auburn, Washington.

Vice Chair Peloza moved that Resolution 4378 be supported by the
committee and forwarded to the Finance Committee and full Council.

V. INFORMATION / DISCUSSION ITEMS
A. 4th of July Update (Kelly)
Deputy Chief Lee provided a preliminary report summarizing the
number of stands, calls for service, problem areas, arrests.
B. Golf Course and Restaurant Update (Faber/Coleman)
Director Coleman provided the most recent figures for the golf course
restaurant.
C. Golf Course Practice Net Report (Faber)
Director Faber presented an update on the golf course, additional work
to be done and amenities scheduled for later in the year.
D. Auburn Municipal Airport Parallel Taxiway Grant (Coleman)
Director Coleman provided information related to the grant to be
received and the timeline.
E. Gun Range Report - Update (Kelly)
Deputy Chief Lee provided statistics for the use of the gun range for
training and qualifications by the police officers and other entities
utilizing the facility. Deputy Chief Lee also addressed the
communication with individuals living in the area to inform them of
scheduled days the department will be using the facility.
F. Matrix
The matrix is adjusted as follows:
Item 7P: Remove the review date
Item 9P: Change date to July 28, 2008
Item 21: Add golf course concerns with July 28, 2008 review date
Item 31: Add shopping cart update with July 28, 2008 review date

G. Addressing Update
Assistant Chief Karnofski discussed from a public safety perspective
issues created by addresses within the city and public safety response
to emergency situations.

The meeting was adjourned at 4:50 p.m.
