MINUTES
1. CALL TO ORDER 4:00 PM, CONFERENCE ROOM NO. 3
Chairman Gene Cerino called the meeting to order at 4 p.m. in Conference
Room 3, located on the second floor of Auburn City Hall, 25 W. Main Street,
Auburn, Washington. Members present: Chairman Gene Cerino, Vice Chair Bill
Peloza, Member Virginia Haugen. Staff present: Mayor Peter Lewis, Chief of
Police Jim Kelly, Assistant Chief of Police Larry Miller, Finance Director Shelley
Coleman, Parks Director Daryl Faber, City Attorney Dan Heid, Police Secretary
Kathy Emmert. Others present: Bill Mercier, resident.
II. AGENDA MODIFICATIONS
There were no agenda modifications.
III. CONSENT ITEMS
A. Approval of Minutes
1. Minutes of the April 13, 2009 Municipal Services Committee
Meeting
Vice Chair Peloza moved to accept the Minutes of the April 27,
2009 meeting. Member Haugen seconded. Chair Cerino
concurred.
MOTION CARRIED: 3-0
IV. ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS
V. INFORMATION / DISCUSSION ITEMS
A. Resolution No. 4475*(Faber)
A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Auburn, Washington,
authorizing the Mayor and City Council to proclaim a"For Our Kids -
Tobacco Free Parks" education program in the City of Auburn parks
The Committee fully supports this educational program.
B. AAB/Model Airplane Club Update*(Garcia/Goleman)
Finance Director Coleman updated the Committee on the discussions with
this club related to their request for use of airport facilities.

C. Matrix*
The Committee received reports from Director Coleman and Director
Faber related to the golf course and restaurant operations for the first
quarter of 2009.
The Committee received reports from Chief Kelly related to the Red Light
Photo Enforcement program and a recent meeting with members of the
Muckleshoot Tribe related to fireworks enforcement for 2009.
Assistant Chief Miller provided the Committee with an update on the
regional jail and provided a virtual tour of the new facility.
A private citizen joined the meeting at approximately 4:45 p.m. with interest in
discussing pyrotechnics specifically as it relates to his personal involvement with
holiday celebrations over the past 20+ years. Chairman Cerino agreed to
discuss this with him.
VI. ADJOURNMENT
The meeting adjourned at 5:10 p.m.
