The regular meeting of the Planning and Community Development Committee was held April 14, 1997 in the
Council Work Area. Those members in attendance were as follows:
MEMBERS PRESENT: Trish Borden, Rich Wagner and Sue Singer
STAFF PRESENT: Lynn Rued and Dick Deal
ALSO PRESENT:
Mayor Booth
The meeting was called to order by Committee Chair Borden at 8:00 p.m.
1. Little League Concession Agreement for Brannan Park
Mr. Deal presented the staff report. The agreement authorizes the Little League of Auburn, a non-profit
organization, to operate a concession stand for visitors to the Park.
Councilmember Wagner made a motion, seconded by Councilmember Barber, to recommend approval.
Chairman Borden concurred.
2. Contract with South King Coun _ty Communi _ty Network
Mr. Deal presented the staff report. This agreement authorizes a contract for the South King County
Community Network to operate the "Peers Educating Peers" program in the City. Approximately 30-40
youth will be trained to be substance abuse/violence peer educators.
Councilmember Wagner made a motion, seconded by Councilmember Barber, to recommend approval.
Chairman Borden concurred.
3. Contract with King Coun .ty Community Services Division
Mr. Deal presented the staff report. This agreement authorizes the acceptance of a grant for the Late Night
Programs for youth during 1997.
Councilmember Wagner made a motion, seconded by Councilmember Barber, to recommend approval.
Chairman Borden concurred.
4. Other Business
The Committee discussed an upcoming City Council retreat which will focus on goals set last year that were not
finished.
With no further items to come before the Committee, the meeting was adjourned at 8:10 p.m.
