PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE MINUTES JANUARY 3, 1994
CITY OF AUBURN
CITY CLERKS OFFICE
The meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m. Those in attendance were Mayor Chuck Booth,
Committee Chairman Rich Wagner, Councilmember Pat Bums, Councilmember Don Kurlc,
and Councilmember Virginia Haugen. Staff in attendance were Public Works Director Frank
A. Currie, Assistant Public Works Director Alice I. Conrad, City Engineer Dennis Dowdy,
Acting Utilities Engineer Tim Carlaw. Guests in attendance were John Raeder from the
Chamber of Commerce, and Jim Reese and Bill Peatt from the Pony Soldier Motor Inn.
ISSUES
A. RESOLUTION NO. 2458, PAYBACK AGREEMENT WITH THE CHAFFEY
CORPORATION
City Engineer Dennis Dowdy presented Resolution No. 2458 to the Public
Works Committee. Concerns were voiced regarding Item HI. Being satisfied
with the response, Councilmember Pat Bums made the motion recommending
approval to the Council at their January 3, 1993 meeting, seconded by Don
Kurle. Councilmember Wagner concurred.
B. STREET VACATION FOR PONY SOLDIER MOTOR INN - V-01-90,
PORTION OF 16TH STREET N.E. AND A PORTION OF 'D' STREET N.E.
LOCATED AT THE INTERSECTION THEREOF, BE VACATED AS
SHOWN ON THE PLAN
Assistant Public Works Director Alice I. Conrad gave a brief history of the
Street Vacation and provided additional back-up information for all attendees.
A brief discussion was conducted to obtain the applicant's consideration.
The Committee concluded that the Resolution for disapproving the Vacation be
amended to authorize staff to return the applicant' s filing fee.
Being satisfied with the response, Councilmember Pat Bums made the moron
recommending approval to the Council at their January 3, 1993 meeting,
seconded by Don Kufle. Councilmember Wagner concurred.

G.R.B.F.C.Z.D MILL CREEK BASIN PHASE I FINDINGS (GREEN RIVER
BASIN FLOOD CONTROL ZONE DISTRICT)
Acting Utilities Engineer Tim Carlaw presented the finding of consultant studies; stated
that additional information from staff is required prior to decision to proceed.
ADJOURN
There being no further business to come before the Council, the meeting was adjourned at
6:30 p.m.
