L CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 4:35 p.m. Those in attendance were Mayor Booth,
Committee Chairman Rich Wagner, Council/Committee member Trish Borden and
Council/Committee member Fred Poe. Staff in attendance were Public Works Director
Frank A. Curfie, City Engineer Dennis Dowdy, Senior Engineer Dennis Selle, Project
Manager Jack Locke, Utilities Engineer Dwight Holobaugh, Utilities Planning Engineer
Nass Diallo, Traffic Engineer Steve Mullen, Transportation Planner Nick Afzali, Don
Wright City staff, Finance Director Diane Supler, Planning Director Paul Krauss, Water
Division Supervisor Bill Scheder, and Public Works Secretary Laurie Scheder. Guests in
attendance were John Raeder from the Chamber of Commerce, Ken Kinared of Henderson
Homes, and Cathleen Can' of C.C.I.

IV. INFORMATION OR DISCUSSION
A. NON-MOTORIZED TRANSPORTATION PLAN - 20-MINUTE
PRESENTATION BY B. SANDERS
Associate Planner B. Sanders presented a brief overview of the history of the
Transportation Plan; described the numerous workshops and public input data. A
detailed list of suggested improvements for the Six-year TIP and costing
information was distributed to review, and return with comments by the Public
Works Committee members. B. Sanders will return to the Committee' at a later
date to present a definitive description of the routes.

B. 6-YEAR TIP FEEDBACK
Transportation Planner Nick Afzali returned to the Public Works Committee to
review feedback and to answer questions and concerns by the Public Works
Committee. Committee Chairman Rich Wagner distributed suggested changes. A
general discussion was held.
The Committee discussed how to modify the rating results to reflect "community
interest" that may not be adequately emphasized in the rating criteria (adapted
'from the State grant eligibility criteria). The Committee provided guidance as to
desired adjustments in prioritization of projects.
Transportation Planner Nick Afzali will return with suggested changes.
C. WATER RATES
Public Works Director Frank A. Curfie gave a brief overview of the water rates.
A discussion was held; Cathleen Can' of C.C.I. was asked to update, revise and
return the suggested rates to the Committee members by June 6, 1996.
In order to bring the water rates issue to a closure, it was suggested .that the Public
Works Committee meet on June 17, 1996 at 5:30 PM; pending availability of
Committee members. Water rates to be the only agenda item.
V. ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Public Works Committee, the meeting was
adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
