I. CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m. Those in attendance were Mayor Booth,
Committee Chairman Rich Wagner, Council/Committee member Gene Cerino and
Council/Committee member Fred Poe. Staff in attendance were Public Works Director
Frank A. Curfie, City Engineer Dennis Dowdy, Senior Engineer Dennis Selle, Utilities
Engineer Dwight Holobaugh, Traffic Engineer Steve Muilen, Water Quality Programs
Coordinator Chris Thorn, Planning Director Paul Krauss, Attorney for the City of Auburn
Michael I. Reynolds, and Public Works Secretary Laurie Scheder.
Guests in attendance were Chairperson for the Mucldeshoot Tribal Council Virginia
Cross, Attorney for the Muckleshoot Tribal Council Rob Otsea, Planning Director for the
Mucldeshoot Tribal Council Lenny Sneatlum, and Jim Bakke and John Latousek regarding
the Goedecke North Property.
H. ISSUES
A. RESOLUTION NO. 2797 - AUTHORIZES THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK
TO EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT TO THE MILL CREEK INTERLOCAL
AGREEMENT BETWEEN KING COUNTY AND THE CITIES OF AUBURN
AND KENT, EXTENDING THE DURATION FOR ONE YEAR FROM THE
DATE OF ADOPTION
City Engineer Dennis Dowdy presented Resolution No. 2797 and a general
discussion was held. Being satisfied, the Public Works Committee recommended
approval to the Council at their January 21, 1997 meeting.
B. RESOLUTION NO. 2799 - SUPPORTS THE LOCATION OF AN AMTRAK
STATION IN THE CITY OF AUBURN
City Engineer Dennis Dowdy discussed Resolution No. 2799. The Public Works
Committee supports and recommends approval to the Council at their January 21,
1997 meeting.

C. RESOLUTION NO. 2800 - APPROVES THE SANITARY SEWAGE
CONNECTION AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF AUBURN AND
THE MUCKLESHOOT INDIAN TRIBE
City Engineer Dennis Dowdy, various City staff members, and guests from the
Muckleshoot Indian Tribe discussed the Agreement. Being satisfied, the Public
Works Committee recommended approval to the Council at their January 21, 1997
meeting, pending review of the forwarding Resolution.
NOTE: The authorizing Resolution No. 2800 was not in the agenda packet.
Copies to be provided to the Committee members on January 14, 1997, with
telepoll response to follow.
CONSENT
A. PER1VIISSION TO ADVERTISE FOR REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FOR THE
SALE OR LEASE OF GOEDECKE NORTH PROPERTY
City Engineer Dennis Dowdy and Planning Director Paul Krauss discussed the
proposal requests and various options for advertising the property in late February
of 1997.
B. AWARD CONTRACT NO. 96-21, PR 586, FOR GENERATOR
PROCUREMENT FOR THE NORTH CENTRAL AUBURN REGIONAL
SOUTH FACILITIES, 1B, TO PACIFIC DETROIT DIESEL-ALLISON
COMPANY ON THEIR LOW BID OF FIFTY-EIGHT THOUSAND THREE
HUNDRED NINETY-TWO DOLLARS AND NO CENTS ($58,392.00)
The Public Works Committee recommends approval of CONSENT item B.
IV'. INFORMATION OR DISCUSSION
A. TRANSPORTATION PLAN SCHEDULE
A scheduled workshop will be held on February 10th from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. The
scheduled Public Works meeting will follow.
B. B STREET LID SCHEDULE
Due to time constraints, DISCUSSION items B and C will be discussed at a later
date.
