February 22, 2008
1. CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Rich Wagner called the meeting to order at 8:00 am in Conference Room 3, located on
the second floor of Auburn City Hall, 25 West Main Street, Auburn, Washington. Committee
members present were: Chairman Rich Wagner, Vice-Chair Gene Cerino, Member Virginia Haugen
Also present during the meeting were: Director Dennis Dowdy, City Engineer/Assistant Director
Dennis Selle, Assistant City Engineer Gaub, Transportation Manager Laura Philpot, and
Maintenance and Operations Manager Randy Bailey

IV. DISCUSSION AND INFORMATION
A. PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE FIELD TOUR
A special meeting was held for the purpose of briefing the Committee on the roles and
responsibilities of the Public Works Department. The meeting included a review of the field tour
itinerary and the Public Works Department Organization Chart. Staff also provided a brief
description of the Transportation, Utility, Engineering Services, and Maintenance and
Operations (M&O) sections of the department followed by a tour to the M&O Facilities, Water
Utility Pump Stations, Storm & Sanitary Sewer Lift Stations, Bonney Lake Reservoir, and
Kersey Way.
V. ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Special Public Works Committee, the meeting
was adjourned at 11:30 a.m.
