Correspondence/Public Input There was no correspondence or public input. IV. Old Business With the resignation of Jason Callahan, it was necessary to elect a new chair for the Board. By unanimous assent, Todd Myers was elected. V. New Business A. Tree Code Information We will review the Code at our next meeting. The Parks and Planning Departments are coordinating a list of trees to include in City Code for use in planting the rights-of-way and developments. Engineering is also part of this equation, necessitating agreement to meet utility needs as well as aesthetics in neighborhoods. By using and agreed-upon listing for these projects, we not only add to the beauty of the neighborhoods but also create a diversified healthy urban forest in the City. B. Review City of Sumner's Tree Board Plan We had planned to visit with representatives of the Sumner Tree Board to discuss some of their projects and plans, but coordinating this meeting was not gossible in September. Mr. Hadley will contact Sumner and try to set up a meeting for October 4 . C. Review KidsDay for 2006 Recommendations We had representation at KidsDay in June and people seemed interested in the information we were distributing. We had the handouts from the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) and a number of peopie were interested in seeing their website. It had previously been suggested that we do a letter sized tri-fold brochure with information about the goals and objectives of the Board. Mr. Myers suggested that we make that a 3 ,(, x 8 inch flyer with information pointing citizens to the website. It was also asked if there was a way that the City install a link with organizations like ISA or Tree City USA to find information pertaining to the planting and care of trees. AUBURN * MORE THAN YOU IMAGINED D. Update on Board Vacancy Mr. Scamporlina advised that Jason Callahan is moving out of the Auburn area and that his position on the Board Is open. The Mayor and Council recently decided that Board membership could include interested people who lived out of Auburn, but who had an interest in the well being of the City. Previously members of the Auburn Garden Club expressed interest in this Board, as they have been active in Arbor Day and gardening in the City proper. Mr. Hadley will contact the club to see if there is a member who may be interested in applying for this position. V1. Adjournment There being no additional business, the meeting adjourned at 3:00 p.m.
