Regular meeting of the Citv Counci I of the City of Auburn, held at 8:00 p. m. in
the Counci I Chambers at the City Hall.
The meeting was cal led to order by Mayor Shaughnessy.
Councilmen present: Aeby, Lea, Kammeyer, Fitzsimmons, Sonnemann and Gaines.
Counci Iman absent: Hough
Minutes of the previous meeting herd August 5, 1963 were approved as mai led.

and read by the City Clerk as follows:

It was moved by Kammeyer and seconded by Gaines to return the bid bonds to the
unsuccessful bidders after ordering the pipe end fittings.

PROGRESS ESTIMATE NO. 4
A & M CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT CO., INC.
Progress Estimete No.4 - A & M Construction Eouipment Co. - as submitted by
Richard E. Wolff, Consulting Engineer, showing payment of $47,492.32 due the
contractor as of August 17, 1963 was presented for approval. The report of Engineer
Wolff certified the work on this contract had been completed in conformance to plans
and specificetions and recommended it be eccepted.
It was moved by Kammeyer and seconded by Fitzsimmons that A & M Construction
Eouipment Company, Inc. be paid the amount due of $47,492.3' as reported in Prog~ess
Estimate No.4 and work be accepted as recommended by Engineer Wolff. The following
roll call vote was recorded: Aaby, yes; Lea, yes; Kammeyer, yes; Fi tzsimmons, yes;
Sonnemann, yes; and Gaines, yes.

FRANK COLUCCIO
Progress Estimate No.4 - Frank Coluccio - es submitted by Richard E. Wolff,
Consulting Engineer, showing peyment of $9,757.20 due the contrector as of August 17,
1963, was presented for approval.
A letter from Engineer Wolff stated the contrect with Coluccio was completed
May 29, 1963, except for finel connection at the treatment plant. Wolff recommended
the Counci I approve the work and the 30-day lien period be started.
It was moved by Kammeyer and seconded by Fitzsimmons that Frank Coluccio be
paid the amount due as recommended by Richard E. Wolff end that the work be
eccepted as recommended. The fol lowing roll cal I vote was recorded: Aaby, yes;
Lea, yes; Kammeyer, yes; Fitzsimmons, yes; Sonnemenn, yes; and Gaines, yes.

CORRESPONDENCE
The City Clerk read a petition requesting formation of an L. I. D. for construction
of e 6" water mein and fire hydrants on 5th street Northeest between K Street
Northeast end M Street Northeast. The petition was signed by nine property owners. I
The petition was accompanied by e letter from George Schuler, Planning Director,
steting that he checked the petition and certified that it contains 62.38% of the prive
property ebutting the aforesaid improvement.
It was moved by Kammeyer end seconded by Lea that the City Attorney be instructed
to draw up the necessary ordinance for this L.I.D. The following roll cel I vote was

A letter from Wi I liem Thorp was read bv the City Clerk describing the benefits of
the NYL-A-PLAN insurance and expressing the hope that the Citv would authorize its
adoption.
Discussion fol lowed concerning the feasibility of payroll deductions for
employees' insurance. Aaby stated he felt the subject needed further study. Gaines
suggested a committee be appointed for this purpose. Mayor Shaughnessy appointed
Aaby, Kammeyer and Gaines as a committee to investigete and bring back e report at
the next meeting.
A letter from the Kurle Construction Company was read by the City Clerk reouesting
the Street Lighting Committee look into the matter of a street light at the end of
26th Place in Cedar Lanes #4.
The matter was referred to the Light Committee.

A letter was received from Alex Sonnichsen submitting for the Counci I's approval
a Preliminary Plat of Armstrong's Maplewood Addition. This matter was referred to the
Plenning Commission.
The City Clerk read the report of Heetth Officer, Dr. Naomi Pettingill.
