PUBLIC HEARING - ALFRED SCHOENBACHlER REZONING The mayor declared the public hearing open on the petition of Alfred Schoenbachler to rezone from A-I to C-3 property located adjacent to west side of river across from Green River Golf & Country Club. A letter from Alfred Schoenbachler stated he would conform to Standard Channel- ization Type No.4 Plan V-9 of Washington State Highway Commission Department of Highways. Olympia. Washington. if the Counci 1 granted his request for re-zoning. It was moved by Calkins and seconded by Hough that the public hearing be closed. MOTION CARRIED It was moved by Lea and seconded by Fitzsimmons that the request of AI fred Schoenbachler to rezone his property from A-I to C-3 be granted. Model ~; 33-27B plus true dollar protective printings. total cost to city including state sales - ~ tax $6389.86. It was moved by Sonnemann and seconded by Aaby that the bid for a Bi' ling- Accounting Machine for the City Clerk's Office and City Treasurer's Office be awarded to National Cash Register for $6389.86. MOTION CARR I ED I AWARD OF BID - GRADING LES GOVE PARK A letter from Auburn Park Board recommended the bid for grading the les Gove Park be awarded to Heisserman Construction. It was moved by Sonnemann and seconded by Hough that the Counci I confirm the recommendation of the Park Board and award the bid for grading the les Gove Park to Heisserman Construction for $14.444.00. Mayor Gaines asked that copies of this letter be made and given to the Engineering Department and Water-Sewer Committee. I A letter from Alex Sonnichsen was read regarding the requirement of 60 ft. riqht-of-wayon the north-south road through Mardel Addition No.2. This matter was referred to the Engineering Department. A letter from Richard A. Bowen, Tukwi la. for the Val ley Reqional Planninq Commission, requested the Counci I endorse resolution favorinq continuation of State Val ley Freeway between R~nton and Aaburn, Washington. It was moved by Lea and seconded by Hough that the Counci' go on record endorsing this resolution. MOTION CARR I ED Claims for Damaqes forwarded to AI Morrision Insurance Agency were read as fo I lows: J. Claim of Ruby l. Neff. dated June 22. 1964.. for $49.00 for treatment of injuries claimed when she sl ipped and fell in alley on "B" Street Northeast. 2. Claim of Douqlas R. Carr, dated June 2, 1964. no amount designated, for possible injuries sustained by his two chi Idren when car driven by Susan Carr hit a manhole in city streets. I 3. Claim of J. R. Jardine for $9.62 for damages to his car when Meter Man Gault backed his motorcycle into rear fender of claimant's car. Mayor Gaines asked City Engineer Hagestad to look into these. A letter from AI Morrision Insurance"Aqency requested repairs of street defects in city. This letter was referred to the Engineering Department and Street Committee. Inc.. which would extend the contract for l..l.,nancial services. to City for a period of three years from July 23. 1964. at which time present agreement expires. was submitted for Counci I approval. I t was moved by Kline and seconded by Aaby that the contract for financial service to the City from Mclean & Company, Inc. be tabled. Consulting Engineer. I. Progress Estimate No.3 (Final). Pump House Revisions, Austin Construction Company showed amount due this estimate as $17,161.34. Engineer Wolff certified al I work had been completed and recommended that the work be accepted subject to one year guarantee clause of the contract; and that after 30 days. if no liens are fi led and upon receipt of release from the State Tax Commission. the retained percentage amounting to $5.148.59 be paid the contractor. The Auburn Planning Commission recommended the approval of the petition of R. O. Bain. John 'N. Greqqs and D. Roqer lanrud to rezone from R-2 to C-I land located between the Enumclaw Highway and 17th St. S. E. and between M and K Streets. with the provision that the following street dedication be made by the developer. 1. Ten (10') feet along the south side of the Enumclaw Highway. 2. Thirty (30') feet to the west of the center line of M Street S. E. extended. 3. Thirtv (30') feet on the north side of 17th Street S. E. 4. Fi fty (50') on the west side of the tract. 5. The twelve (12') foot easement on the west side of the complete tract be changed to a twelve (12') foot street dedication, and S. McCormic. owners of property outside the city limits of the City of Auburn, protested the inclusion of their land within the sanitary sewer district proposed as l. I. D. HI58. and requested their land not be included and not be assessed for said sanitary district. Thomas Agee, Attorney representing J. A. McCormick. stated the letter of protest from J. A. McCormick, Glen J. Eh'e. and Mrs. J. H. McCormick, would make the petition for sanitary sewer district proposed as l. I. D. HI58 contain less that 50% of the property outside the City in favor of the proposed L. I. D. It was moved by Kline and seconded by Hough that unit two (2) be removed from L. I. D. HI58 and the City Attorney be instructed to draw up the necessary Ordinance to imp'ement the creation of l. I. D. HI58 on units one (I). three (3). and four (4). Counci Iman lea said the Street Committee was aware of this problem and were working on it at the present time.
