The meeting was cal led to order by Mayor Gaines. Counci Imen present: lea, Kline, Fitzsimmons, Calkins, Aaby, and Sonnemann. Counci Iman absent: Hoyt. It was moved by Calkins and seconded by Aaby that the Counci I Minutes of the December 21, 1964, Council Meeting be amended as fol lows: Change Resolution No. 174 to No. 178, and Resolution No. 175 to No. 179. MOTION CARRIED With these corrections, the minutes were approved as read. BIDS The fol lowing bids were opened at 3 p. m. January 4, 1965, for a 1965 3/4 ton truck for the Park Department: Bidder Price Inc. less Net Sales Tax Trade-In SCARFF NOTORS, I NC. $2594.02 $160.00 $2434.02 BOTHEll CHEV.-CADILLAC, I NC. 2578.10 400. Wolff submitted a claim for $731.00 for Job Inspection Lea Hi 1 I System. It was moved by Fitzsimmons and seconded by Sonnemann that Richard E. Wolff be paid $731.00 from the Water-Sewer Construction Fund for job inspection Lea Hi I I System. ROLL CALL VOTE. AI I Counci Imen voting YES. MOTION CARRIED Richard E. Wolff submitted a chanqe order on the Lea Hi I I Water System covering Austin Contract for Landscapinq Tank Site. Engineer Hagestad reported he had received approval of change order from the King County Planning Commission. It was moved by Fitzsimmons and seconded by Calkins to approve the change order on the Lea Hi I I Water System covering Austin Contract for Landscaping T~nk Si tee MOTION CARRIED The proposed annexation petition was read for the Counci I. These petitions were turned over to Ray Sonnemann, Chairman of the Annexation Committee. Lone Brothers Construction Company submitted a claim for payment of the 10% retained percentages on completed construction of The Municipal Animal Shelter. It was moved by Fitzsimmons and seconded by Kline that Progress Estimate No.3 as submitted by Richard E. Wolff be approved and Austin Construction Company be paid $15,821.00 from the Water-Sewer Construction Fund. ROLL CALL VOTE. AI I Counci Imen voting YES. MOTION CARRIES Engineer Hagestad submitted a letter to the Counci I certifying that the C. J. Rockey Company had completed the work under L.I .D. No. 157, and $13,362.56 was due them at this time. DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT--ENGINEER HAGESTAD Engineer Hagestad reported that a slide had occured on Mountain View Road. Friday night or Saturday morning, in which about 50 feet of road way, and about 6 feet of actual road surface were lost. WATER DEPARTMENT--WATER SUPERVISOR TOLLEFSON Water Supervisor Tollefson said he had received a report on a potential slide area on the slope above the pump house. :'32 (). MOT ION CARR I ED I OLD BUSINESS BANKING OF CITY FUNDS It was moved by Sonnemann and seconded by Fitzsimmons that we approve the recommendation of the Finance Committee that the "working" bank during 1965 shall be the National Bank of Commerce, during 1966 shal I be the National Bank of Washington, during 1967 shal I be Val ley National Bank, that the payrol I warrants shall be designated to clear through National Bank of Washington in 1965, through I AUBURN, WASHINGTON MONDAY JANUARY 4, 1965 327· Val ley National Bank in 1966, and through National Bank of Commerce in 1967, and that the claims warrants shal I be designated to clear through National Bank of Commerce in 1965, through National Bank of Wash ington in 1966, and through Val ley National Bank in 1967, and that city funds shal I be principally carried in the "working" bank at all times, with surplus funds being deposited with the other banks in such amounts as is deemed feasible by the Treasurer.
