This item should be up for discussion and final action at the next regularly scheduled Council Meeting on October 2, 1972. The Co~7dttee received a request from the State Liquo~ Board per~aining to the I. Pizza Hut of Spokane. The Pizza Hut tvould like to be located at 914 Auburn Way Sou~h and they ·request, a liquor license. Dr. Howells of ~he Seventh Day Adventists Church stated tbat he represents 1400 to 1500 people in this City anè they do not wan~ liquor in the State, nòt alone across from their Church. Coun::::J.lIJ1a.n Piedler mentioned the educational dispJay in Burlington Northern's Auburn Yards. The Auburn and Kent firemen and la,,, enforcement o.f.ficers along r,,¡i tl1 400 puget Sounç public safety officers attended the display and received informa'tion on ho~", to cope with the hazards of a derailment and they viewed films o.f actual derailments and the problems that are creatèd'by such derailments. Counçilman Fiedler offers his appreciation for the outstanding display for the firemen and police officers in the puget Sound area. The Mayor stated that the display and information ~las inva1.uabl because it shm¡ed hm. to control fires and how to distinguish t·¡hattype of fire a person was ¡yorking to control. The Mayor extended his thanks to the Burlington Northern Railroad for their display and for their assistance in keeping the Fuget Soun area more safety concious regarding railroad haza~ds. NUNICIPAL BUILDING AND EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN LEA There will not be a Municipal Building and Equipment Maintenance Co~~~ttee meeting in the foreseeable future.
