COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS LICENSE AND ORDLNÆ¥CE COMNITTEE - CHAIRi"JAN GllVEY Councilman Gavey stated that the Law Enforcement & FiTe Fighters Board met on !~nday, December 18, 1972, and all business was handled in a satisfactory manner. The next License and OTdinance Comlnittee Meeting will be on January 10" 1973" at 7:30 P.N. STREET AND. ENGINEERING COMMITTEE - CHAIRl'-fAN SONNENANN The'Street and Engineering Committee met on December 6, 1972, at 7:30 P.M. Chris Brown of the Enplan Corporation presented the draft copy of the TOPICS Study and a priority array of projects to be improved. The Street Committee discussed the report and relayed minor comments to Chris Bro¡..m to incoTporate in the final copy which tdll be available shortly. The Committee reviewed sample agreements of franchise for fiberglass benches. The next Street and Engineering Coæ~cúttee Meeting will he on December 20, 1972" at 7:30 P.M. and ¡viII recess at 8:30 P.M. for the Executive Council Neeting. U~~LITY AND AIRPORT COMMITTEE - CHAIRMAN SHAUGHNESSY The Utility and Airport Comffdttee met on December 7, 1972, at 7:30 P.M. The CO~7Úttee discussed details of a proposed new ordinance which would be required if the City decides to sign the contract vIi th Metro. The Comn1Í ttee discussed and supported the creation of and LID on 304th from approximately 11th Avenue S.E., West to 104th Place S. The·C6mmittee also discussed the A.p.ri.A. vlorkshop ç.¡hich ç.¡Íll be held March 8 and 9, 197 and requested that $100.00 be inserted in the Water Division budget for utilization for this workshop~ AIRPORT COMMITTEE - CHAIRMJ!...N SHAUGHNESSY The Airport Com.mittee met December 7, 1972~ at 7 :30 P.M. Discussion was held on the pToblem of heating at the Flight Center; however, the problem has been resolved. Discussion was held pertaining to a letter received from the Auburn Nerchant Patrol regarding the need for additional surveillance and security patrol at the Auburn Airport. The Committee feels that the additional cost for this service could not be justified. The Com~ittee also had further discussion of the F.A~A. Certification for the Auburn Municipal Airport. PLANNING, BEAUTIFICATION & BUILDING CODES COMMITTEE - CHAIRMAN DARLING The Planning, Beautification and Building Codes Committee met at 7:30 P.M. on December 1 1972. A public hearing was conducted to consider the matter of a Shorelines Management Substantial Development Per.ni t application (File No. SU2-72, J. J. Harkey) for a mul tipl housing unit in the 1500 block of 22nd StTeet NE. After review and discussion, the Committee directs the Director of the Department of Planning and Coæmunity Development to approve and issue said permit pursuant to the requirements of regulations of the State Department of Eco.logy and furtheT that the issuance of a building permi t shall not be issued until the Tequirements and peTmits of other governmental agencies have been secured. The Committee also reviewed the oTdinance draft regardingthe~Je~fi9ß of the State Shorelines Management Act. The Committee recommends that this ordinance bc:'ÍntToduceã and adopted. The Comn1Í ttee discussed pToposed Resolutions No. 548 and 549 and recoIT'.:.T!ends adoption of the resolutions.
