The regular meeting of the City of Auburn Council was called
to order by Mayor Bob Roegner at 7:30 p.m. in the City of
Auburn Council Chambers. Mayor Roegner led those in atten-
dance in the pledge of allegiance.
Roll Call
Those in attendance included Mayor Bob Roegner; Council-
members Burns, Colburn, Craig, Kurle, Larson, Whittall and
Wisner and staff members Jack Bereiter, City Attorney; Len
Chapman, Parks & Recreation Director; Dan Clements, Finance
Director; Pat Dugan, Planning Director; Jim Gibson, Police
Chief; Bob Johnson, Fire Chief; Coralee McConnehey, City
Clerk; Pat Nevins, Public Works Director; and Gretel Sloan,
Personnel Director. Also in attendance were Gene Haxton,
Building Supervisor, and Steve Lancaster, Environmental
Planner.
Mavor's Announcements and Appointments
Commission Appointments Mayor Roegner recommended Bob
Poldervart for membership on the Planning Commission and
Garna Jones for another term on the Planning Commission.
MOTION by Larson, SECOND by Colburn, to concur with the
Mayor's recommendations. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
Agenda Modifications - Modifications included Public Works
and Finance Committee Minutes and an Inter-Fund Loan.
CITIZEN INPUT, PUBLIC HEARINGS & CORRESPONDENCE
Public Hearings
1. George Hansen and David Sherin Rezone from Unclassified
to M-1 on property located on the north and south sides
of 37th Street N.W. in the 400 block. (1-84)
No one spoke for or against the rezone. MOTION by
Wisner, SECOND by Burns, to close the public hearing.
MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
MOTION by Wisner, SECOND by Larson, to approve the
rezone from Unclassified to M-1 (Light Industrial) and
to instruct the City Attorney to prepare the necessary
ordinance outlining the applicable Findings of Fact
MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
2. API Associates and Cana Center Foundation Conditional
Use Permit to allow a marriage encounter facility to be
built on property currently zoned M-2 located at the
southwest corner of 20th Street N.W. and "R" Street N.W.
