HomeMy WebLinkAbout06-04-1994 special CITY OF AUBURN COUNCIL WORKSHOP JUNE 4, 1994 A Council workshop was conducted on June 4th, 1994 in the Council work area located in the Mayor's Office beginning at 8:30 a.m. ATTENDANCE Participants included Charles Booth, Mayor, Don Kurle, Mayor Pro-tem, Jeanne Barber, councilmember, Trish Borden, Councilmember, Stacey Brothers, councilmember, Pat Burns, Councilmember, Virginia Haugen, Councilmember, and Rich Wagner, Councilmember. Dr. Michael R. Pendleton, Ph.D. facilitated the workhop. SUMMARY The purpose of the workshop was to participate in an organizational retreat. The agenda for the workshop was developed by Dr. Pendleton through personal interviews with the individual participants prior to the retreat. The retreat was organized into three areas where the Council and Mayor informally discussed their views with regard to the following; Groups and their Development; Council Process and Protocols; and City Issues. Groups and their Development focused on Fi ve Stages of Group Development. Council Process and Protocol were discussed with regard to community relations, council meetings, media relations, commi ttee structure-Council of the whole, and leadership style-understanding change. city Issues included Youth and Human Services, Historic Preservation-Building Preservation, and Annexation. Dr. Pendleton will provide a brief summary of the retreat including the issues that were discussed. The retreat ended at 4:00 p.m. f:\clerk\council\94A6-4
