CITY COUNCIL WORKSHOP
MINUTES
August 25, 1994
The City Council goal setting workshop convened in the
Council Work Area located in the Mayor's Office at 7:00 a.m.
Those in attendance included Mayor Charles A. Booth, and
Councilmembers Wagner, Haugen, Borden, Brothers, Barber, and
Burns. Councilmember Kurle was excused. Dr. Michael
Pendleton, facilitator, was also in attendance. Department
directors in attendance included Police Chief Dave Purdy,
Finance Director Victor Thompson, Planning Director Paul
Krauss, city Attorney Mike Reynolds, Parks and Recreation
Director Len Chapman, Public Works Director Frank Currie,
and Fire Chief Bob Johnson.
Each department director presented a 10 minute statement of
the state of his/her department and goals for the future.
Mayor Booth, in the absence of a Personnel Director
presented information regarding the status of the Personnel
Department, and goals and direction for the future.
Following a 15 minute break at 8:45, Dr. Pendleton
facilitated an open discussion where questions and answers
ensued in preparation of the 1995 budget.
There was a recess at 9:30 a.m. for fifteen minutes. The
meeting reconvened at 9:45 a.m. for completion of goal
setting procedure by Michael Pendleton. Preliminary annual
goals were developed, discussed and prioritized. A report
is expected from Dr. Pendleton within two weeks.
The workshop adjourned at 12:00 p.m.
