HomeMy WebLinkAbout08-10-1996 Special Council Mtg CITY OF AUBURN CITY COUNCIL PLANNING SESSION MINUTES AUGUST 10, 1996 8:00 A.M. CITY HALL COUNCIL WORK AREA The meeting convened at 8:00 a.m. in the City Hall Council Work Area. Those in attendance included Mayor Charles A. Booth and Councilmembers: Rich Wagner, Jeanne Barber, Fred Poe, Gene Cerino, Trish Borden and Stacey Brothers. Also in attendance was Don Kurle, Facilitator. Councilmember Sue Singer was excused. The purpose of the planning session was to expand and firm up planning for areas of interest that were identified at a City Council Study Session held on June 6, 1996. These areas were identified in the minutes of that meeting as the following: -Enhancing Revenue -Curfew -Achieving greater cooperation with neighboring cities and tribes -Building a library -Improving transportation -Completing the storm drainage plan -Achieving ordedy annexation -Fostering relationships with the schools, and understanding administrative legislative boundaries. The Councilmembers wished to establish time frames to study these areas and to identify items for discussion that would lead to better understanding and aid in the legislative decision making process. In addition, two other topics were discussed by the Council. The first was in the area of broad administrative issues. The second dealt with things the Council could do to facilitate open discussions during Council meetings. These topics are also discussed below. The meeting adjourned at 11:38 PM. Charles A.
