MOTION CARRIED AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION Mr. Robert Stead, 1640 So. 304th, Attorney representing Mr. J. J. Harkey & Co. voiced his objections to the Council's action in referring the Preliminary Plat, known as Rivervista Estates, Division #1 back to the Planning Commission, after it had been approved by Council on March 1, 1976. Mr. Stead also questioned why Mr. Harkey was not notified of Council action until April 13, 1976. He stated that Mr. Harkey has started work and spent approximately $26,000.00 before he was notified of the decision. Mr. Stead requests that the Council reconsider their actions. it was the City Attorneys` opinion that Mr. Harkey has the right to be heard and that he (Mr. Harkey) was free to go ahead with:'-his word, and he has not been shut down. 11r. Berei ter suggested that Public Notice be given fox a Public Hearing to give Mr. Harkey a chance to dear the review. , ~t was moved by Craig, seconded, by Lea_to call for a Public Hearing on this matter, to be held at the Council meeting of May 17, 1976.' Councilman Larson recommended that the Airport Committee hold meetings on the first and third Tuesday of each month, beginning in May. It was moved by Mitchell, seconded by Larson that the Mayor and the City Council authorize Mr. ~lodson to continue cutting hay on the w®st side of the Auburn Airport. The Airport Committee meeting was continued to Monday, April 26, 1976, at 7:30 P.M. UTILITY COMMITTED - Chairman Craig The next meeting of the Utility Committee will be hold April 22, 1976, at 7:30 P. M., in the Public Works Off~tce. The Committee recommends that the Council k~dopt Ordinance #3063, to be brought up later. . ~, ~- PLANNING & SE'AUTIFICATION COMMITTEE' - Chairman Darson A steering committee to investigate the possibility of ostabl.f,shing an Auburn Arts :.~- Commission is being organized, to be headed ley Mrs. ,Ruth Flotol°~~~r and Mrs. ion Craig. Tho proposed Annexation of South 265th Street sill b~~ ,hut, on ttie May agE:nda. A proposed off-street parking Ordinance was discussed. Tlie Auburn Garden Club requested permission to plant flowers ir. the six circular planter rings located at the mini-mail. The Committee concurred with this request and expressed the City's appreciation to the Garden Club. It was moved by Larson, seconded byKitchell that a concession permit be granted to the Auburn Jaycee Auxiliary and to the Auburn Offsiders Club. MOTION CARRIED PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE - Chairman Anderson The next meeting of the Public Safety Committee will be held April 20, 1976, at 7:30 P.M. FINANCE COMMITTEE - Chairman Flechsig The Finance Committee meeting was held on April 15, 1976, and the minutes are on file and a matter of public record. STREET & ENGINEERING COMMITTEE - Chairman Lea The Street & Engineering Committee meeting was held April 14, 1976, at 7:40 P.M. Mr. R. J. Webster, owner of property at 305 Auburn Way South has stated that his tenants do not have adequate parking because of the two areas of Metro Bus Stops on Auburn Way South. The Committee requested Marv Seabrands to contact Metro regarding this problem. The Committee has had several requests from other Departments to correct the problem at the intersection of I5th N. E. and Auburn Way North. It was moved by Lea, seconded by Flechsig, to refer this matter back to the Street Committee, and that Chief Scyler or his representative be present at the nex~` meeting. MOTION CARRIED Traffic lights at the intersection of Peasley Canyon and West Valley Highway was discussed. Lack of funds seemed to be the main problem, along with insufficient traffic to justify the signal.
