1. Mayor Kersey declared the continued public hearing open on the request of TransCanada
F,nte.rprises, Ltd. to rezone from Unclassified to IZ-2, R-3 and R-4, property located
on the south side of the Stuclc River approximately 1 m.i.1e east of "R" Street S.E.
(AppLrcat:ion 39-78) The Planning Commission recommends approval of the request
for R-2 (Single Family) zoning whicn is .n conformance with the Comprehensive Land
Use Plan, and that the request of the R-3 (Duplex) and R-4 (Multi-Familcl) zoning
be denied. In addition, no approval. is to be granted until the Flood Control
'.1 Zone Permit is approved on the property,

a continuation of the hearing for sixty days to give them time to complete require-

It was moved by Larson, seconded by Lea, that the public hearing on applications
39-78 and 40-78 be continued until. I'ebruary 19, 1979, council meeting.

2. Mayor Kersey declared the continued public hearing open on the request of TransCanada
Enterprises, Ltd. to rezone from Unclassified to R-2 (Single Family) property
located 1/2 mile east of "R" Street S.E. south of the White River and northerly
and southerly of Stuck River Road (Application 40-78). The Planning Commission
recommends approval of this request_ because it conforms to the Comprehensive Land
Use Plan and will allow the developer to proceed with his plan for servicing the
area with all necessary public improvements.
This request was acted upon in the previous hearing.

AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION
Geor.ye Dansenburg, 210 37th S.E., read a letter fromresidents of the Auburn Manor
thanking the City for their help .in the problems with possible conversion of the
mobile home park to a condominium type arrangement.
Warren Whitworth, 6l1 Auburn Way South, Space 16, read a letter from a group of
citizens against the proposed rate hike by Puget Sound Power and Light Company
thanking the Council. for consideration of Resolution No. 936 on tonight's agenda.
Bob Cruickshank, 530 3rd 5tree.t N.E., Apt, #1, a<lded that_ hE~ had 430 signatures
aya.inst the rate hike by Puget Sound and .stated he would like to go to the hearing
with the Washington .State Department of Utilities and Transportation tomorrow with
the Courrcil's support t_hr_ouyh Resolution No. 936.
Joe Gould, chairman of the S.E. Auburn Citiznes' Committee, 53rd Street S.E., spoke
in opposition to Ordinance No. 3346. He stated he had read the Dames Moore report
and wanted to comment that the report covered the north side of the coal creek springs
and the development is on t_he south side. He added that the report said that water
we11.s in the area would have an impact.
Jack Bereiter recommended at this time that the City Council recF~ss to
an executive session to discuss matters of litigation and Land acquisition.
The Council adjourned at 8:12 p.m. to an executive session to discuss matters of
litigation and possible Land acquisition. The regular meeting reconvened at 9:20 p.m.

It was moved by Flitchcock, seconded by Roegner, that the bid for the 1964 Dodge Pickup
