ORDiNANCE NO. l222
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, RELATiNG TO AND PROVIDING FOR THE ANNEX-
ATION TO THE CITY OF AUBURN OF A CONTIGUOUS AREA OF LAND LYiNG AD~ACENT TO THE NORTH-
ERLY MARGiNAL LINE OF THE EXISTING CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF AUBU~N. WHICH LAND is
DESCRIBED IN A PETITION DULY FILED WITH THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, AND
REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 1986 OF THE ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF AUBURN.
WHEREAS, the City Councl I of the City of Auburn was notified by o~'ners of property
having more than ten per cent in value of the assessed valuation within the proposed area
tð be annexed, that they desired to circulate a petition to commence annexation proceed-
Ings to the City of Auburn; aQd,
WHEREAS, the City Counci I of the City of Auburn subsequently authorized the circu-
latlon of the petition within the proposed area to be annexed; and,
WHEREAS, the petition for annexation of the property hereinafter described WaS duly
fi led with the City Council of the City of Auburn on the 19th day of September, 1966,
which petition was signed by the owners of more than 75J In value of al I of the property
lying within the limits of the proposed area to be annexed according to the assessed val-
uation for general taxation of the property for which an annexation Is petitioned, said
petition setting forth the legal description of the property to be annexed and being aC-
companied by a plat outlintng the boundaries of said area sought to be annexed; and,
WHEREAS, the City Counci I of the City of Auburn fixed a date for public hearing to
be held at 8:00 p.m. in the City Hall of the City of Auburn on October 11, 1966, setting
forth notice of said public hearing for annexation to be published in the official City
newspaper of the City of Auburn in one issue of said newspaper, and providing for the
posting in three public places within the area proposed for annexation of copies of said
notice of public hearing; and,
WHEREAS, notice of public hearing of said petition of annexation to the City of
Auburn has been duly published in the official newspaper of the City of Auburn in one
regular issue of said newspaper, and the said notice of public hearing having been posted
in three public places within the area proposed for annexation by the City Clerk of the
CIty of Auburn, and said public hearing being held at 8:00 p.m. in the ICity Hal I of the
City of Auburn on October 17, 1966, and the City Counci I of the City of Auburn having de-
termined that said annexation is in the best interest and welfare of the City of Auburn,
did accept and approve the petition above described" and,dlrècted the Mayor of the City
of Aubürn tö convene a Board of Review to consider the proposed annexation, as required
by Section 2, Chapter 282, Laws of the State of Washington, for the year 1961; and,

WHEREAS, on"December 7, 1966, at a meet i"9 of the Board of RI\"I ew convened to con-
sider the annexation, by motion duly made and carried, a majority of the Board of Review
approved the pet i t i on for annexat Ion to the City of Auburn as submi tted, and forwarded
their findings to the City Counci I of the City of Auburn;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY GOUNCiL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON
AS FOLLOWS:
Section I. That the petition for annexation of the following desc:ribed property has
been duly and properly 'i led with the City Counci I of the City of Aubur"n, and compl ies
with all requirements of law.
Section 2. That by regular motion adopted and pasSed by the City Counci I on the
19th day of Se¡tt".r, 1966, it waS ordered that a pub Ii c hear i ng be hI! I d on sa i d pet i-
tion for annexation at 8:00 p.m. in the City Hall of the City of Auburrt on October 11,
1966, providing for the proper notice to be published and posted according to law.
Section 3. That proper notice of public hearing WaS duly publishE!d in the official
newspaper of the City of Auburn on the 28th day of September, 1966, and was duly posted
in three public places within the area proposed for annexation hereinafter described, and
that a pub I ic hearing was held at B:OO p.m. in the City Hall of the CiI'y of Auburn on the
17th day of October, 1966.
Section 4. That at the conclusion of the public hearing in the City Hall of the City
of Auburn on the 11th day of October, 1966, the City Council did appro.'e the petition for
annexation and directed the Mayor to convene a Board of Review to consider the proposed
annexat ion to the CI.ty of Auburn.
Section 5. That on December 7, 1966, by motion duly made and carried, a majority of
the Board of Review approved the petition for annexation to the City of Auburn.
Section 6. That the property lying contiguous to the northerly ma.rginal I ine of
the existing city limits of the City of Auburn hereinafter described be· and the Same is
hereby annexed to the City of Auburn, said property being more particularly described as:
Beginning at a point on the City of Auburn limits said point being
the SW corner of the SEt of the SEt of Section 2, Township 21,
Range 4 EWM; thence north along the west line of the SW4 of the
SEt of the SEt aforesaid Section 2 to the NW corner of the S! of
the SWt of the SEt of the. Set' aforesaid iSect,; 0"2. thence fEast
alo/lg the nottb'1 Ine of rtbe S! of the SW4 of the SE4 of the SEt
of afor...id Section 2; to the west line of the E! of the SE4 of
the SEt aforesaid Section 2; thence north along the west line of
the E! of the SEt of the SEt aforesaid Section 2 to a point 20'
south of the north line of the south i of the Ei of the S£t of
the SEt aforesaid Section 2 thence east parallel with the north
line of the S. of the E. of the SEt of the SEt of aforesaid
Section 2 to the west marginal line of 6Bth Ave. So. (West Valley
Hlghwayl, thence south along the westerly marginal line of 68th
Ave. So. to the south marginal line of the SE4 of the SEt Section
2, TownShip 21, Range 4 EWM, thence west along aforesaid south
line to the point of beginning. Situate in the County of King
State of Washington. '

~tion 7. That the effective date of the annexation of the above described prop_
erty to the City of Auburn shall be the effective date of the passage of this ordinance
providing for such annexation.
Section B. That in accordance with the terms of the petition for annexation of the
above described property, the area to be annexed shall assume the indebtedness of the
City of Auburn existing at the effective date of the passage of this ordinðnce.
Section 9. That Ordinance No. 1986 of the ordinances of the City of Auburn adopted
on November 7, 1966, be and the same is hereby repealed in its entirety"
Section 10. That this ordinance shall take effect five 15) days f,"om and after its
passage, approval and publioation, as provided by law.
