HomeMy WebLinkAbout3066 ORDINANCE N0. 3 0 6 6 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, AMENDING AUBURN CITY ORDINANCES 10.36.070 AND 10.36.090, TRANSFERRING THE JURISDICTION AND CONTROL OF THE AUBURN MUNTCIPAL PARKING CONTROL OFFICERS FROM THE AUBURN FINANCE DIRECTOR TO THE AUBURN POLICE CHIEF. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section'1. Auburn City Ordinance 10.36.070 which reads as follows: "Enforcement personnel - Employment. The Finance Director is authorized and empowered to employ personnel of suitable age, physical condition and qualifications in the Finance Director's discretion, to enforce the provisions of the traffic ordinances of the City pertaining to nonmoving traffic violations in the nonmetered parking zones thereof, concurrently with the Police Department of the City". is hereby amended to read as follows: "Enforcement personnel - Employment. The Police Chief is authorized and empowered to employ personnel of suitable age, physical condition and qualifications in the Police Chief's discretion, to enforce the provisions of the traffic ordinances of the City pertaining to nonmoving traffic violations in the nonmetered parking zones thereof," Section 2. Auburn City Ordinance 10.36.090 which reads as follows: "Enforcement personnel - Supervision. The personnel shall be considered as employees of the Finance Director's Office, and shall be under the direction, supervision and control of the Finance Director, and shall not be a member or a part of the police department." is hereby amended to read as follows: "Enforcement personnel - Supervision. The personnel shall be under the direction, supervision and control of the Auburn Police Chief, but shall not be considered law enforcement officers or commissioned officers of the Auburn Police Department." Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force five (5) days from and after its passage, approval and publication as provided by law.
