AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, REPEALING AUBURN CODIFIED CITY
ORDINANCES 2.42.020 (CREATION OF PARK BOARD AND RECREATION COMMISSIONERS
POSITIONS) AND 2.42.040 (TERMS OF OFFICE - FILLING OF VACANCIES) AND
ENACTING A NEW CODIFIED ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON,
CREATING A SEVEN MEMBER BOARD OF PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSIONERS
AND PROVIDING FOR THE TERMS OF OFFICE THEREOF AND THE FILLING OF
VACANCIES THEREFORE.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Auburn Codified City Ordinance 2.42.020 (Creating three
member Board of Park and Recreation Commissioners) and 2.42.040 (pertaining
to terms of office thereof and the filling of vacancies therefore). are as
of the effective date of this Ordinance repealed.
Section 2. There is created a Board of Park and Recreation Commissioners,
consisting of seven members who shall 6e appointed by the Mayor with the consent
of the City Council from citizens of recognized fitness for such. position.
The present three park. and recreation commissioners shall complete their
present terms of office. The additional four commissioners appointed under the
terms of this Ordinance shall be determined by lot whose terms shall expire in
one, two and three years, respectively, and their terms shall begin after their
appointment has been approved by the City Council. The terms. of office, except
for the present three commissioners and except the first terms of the four
additional commissioners shall begin on the first Monday in January and at the
expiration of each. commissioner's term, the Mayor shall appoint with the consent
of the City Council, one member fora three year term. Members of the board may
be removed at any time by the Mayor, and vacancies for the remainder of unexpired
terms shall 6e filled in the same manner in which original appointments are made.

Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in farce five (5)
days from and after its passage, approval and publication, as provided by
law.

of the City of Auburn, a Municipal Corporation and Code City, situate in
the County of King, State of Washington, do hereby certify that the fore-
going is a full, true and correct copy of Ordinance No. 3523 of the
ordinances of the City of Auburn, entitled
"AN ORDIWANCE of the City of Auburn, Washington, repealing Auburn Codified
City Ordinances 2.42.020 (creation of Park Board and Recreation Commissioners
Positions) and 2.42.040 (Terms of office-filling of vacancies) and enacting
a new codified ordinace of the City of Auburn, Washington, creating a seven
member board of Park and Recreation Commissioners and providing for the
terms of office thereof and the filling of vacancies therefore.

Council and approved by the Mayor of the said City of Auburn, on the 16th
