AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, REPEALING AUBURN CODIFIED CITY
ORDINANCE 5.40.050 (DANCE PERMITS - INVESTIGATION - APPROVAL OR
DISAPPROVAL) AND AUBURN CODIFIED CITY ORDINANCE 5.40.060 (DANCE
PERMITS - REVOCATION) AND CREATING NEW ORDINANCES IN THEIR PLACE.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Auburn Codified City Ordinances 5.40.050 (Dance Permits -
Investigation - Approval or Disapproval) and 5.40.060 (Dance Permits - Revocation)
are herewith repealed.
Section 2. There is herewith created a new Auburn Codified City Ordinance
5.40.050, which shall read as follows, to-wit:
"Dance Permit - Investigation - Approval or Disapproval.
Upon receipt of each application for a permit under this
chapter, the city clerk shall transmit the same to the
Auburn police chief for investigation and approval. The
Auburn police chief may refuse to approve the issuance of
a permit as required pursuant to the provisions of this
chapter, where, for any reason in his opinion the issuance
thereof would be detrimental to the public peace, health
or welfare. When any such application is rejected, the
applicant may, within three days thereafter, file written
notice of appeal to the Auburn City Council Public Safety
Committee from the decision of, the Auburn police chief in
refusing to issue such.permit, and the action of the Auburn
City Council Putilic Safety Committee shall be conclusive and
not subject to review."/ ;

Section 3. There is herewith created a new Auburn Codified City Ordinance
5.40.060, which shall read as follows „ to-wit:
"Dance Permit - Revocation.
Any permit issued under the provisions of th'is'chapter may
be revoked by the Auburn policetchief for any reason wh.ich
in his opinion the further operation thereof would be
detrimental to public peace, health or welfare, or for
the violation of any federal or state law or any ordinance
or regulation of the city. The Auburn police chief shall
cause to be served upon such parties as he may deem to be
interested therein such reasonable notice as he may determine
to be proper of his intention to revoke such license. When-
ever any such permit is revoked, the permittee may, within
three days thereafter, file written notice of appeal to the
Auburn City Council Public Safety Committee from the decision
of the Auburn police chief, and the action of the Auburn City
Council Public Safety Committee shall be conclusive and not
subject to review."
Section 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force five (5)
days from and after its passage, approval and publication, as provided by law.

of the City of Auburn, a Municipal Corporation and Code City, situate in
the County of King, State of Washington, do hereby certify that the fore-
going is a full, true and correct copy of Ordinance No. 3542 of the
ordinances of the City of Auburn, entitled
"AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, REPEALING AUBURN CODIFIED
CITY ORDINANCE 5.40.050 (DANCE PERMITS - INVESTIGATION - APPROVAL OR
DISAPPROVAL) AND AUBURN CODIFIED CITY ORDINANCE 5.40.060 (DANCE PERMITS -
REVOCATION) AND CREATING NEW ORDINANCES IN THEIR PLACE.
I certify that said Ordinance No. 3542 as duly passed by the
Council and approved by the Mayor of the said City of Auburn, on the 18th
day of AUGUST , A.D., 1980
I further certify that said Ordinance No. 3542 was published as
provided by law in the Daily Globe News, a daily newspaper published in the
City of Auburn, and of general circulation therein, on the 24thday of
AUGUST , A.D., 1980
