HomeMy WebLinkAbout3571ORDINANCE NO. 3 5 7 1 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, REPEALING AUBURN CODIFIED CITY ORDINANCES 13.20.480 AND 13.20.520, RELATING TO THE MONTHLY RATES AND CHARGES FOR SEWAGE DISPOSAL SERVICES AND CREATING A NEW AUBURN CODIFIED CITY ORDINANCE 13.20.480 AND 13.20.520 THEREOF. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Auburn Codified City Ordinances 13.20.480 and 13.20.520 are hereby repealed in their entirety. Section 2. There is hereby created a new Auburn Codified City Ordinance 13.20.480 relating to sewage disposal service charge - residential occupancies, which shall read as follows: "Monthly rates. Effective on the January 10, 1981 billing rates and charges for sewage disposal services shall be as follows: (A) Residences: Eight dollars and fifty cents per month, for each single family residence within the corporate city limits and ten dollars and!,fifty cents•per month, for each single family residence outside the corporate city limits. (B) Non-single family residential: All users other than single family residential shall pay eight dollars and fifty cents per month for the first 900 cubic feet and 95 cents per every 100 cubic feet thereafter. Non-single family residential users outside the corporate city limits shall pay ten dollars and fifty cents per month for the first 900 cubic feet and one dollar and seventeen cents per every 100 cubic feet thereafter. (C) Municipality of Metro Sewer Charges: These charges are included in the monthly rates stated above for residential and non-single family residential rates. Any Metro cost increases charged to the City of Auburn will be passed along to Auburn customers." Section 3. There is hereby created a new Auburn Codified City Ordinance 13.20.520, relating to sewage disposal service charge - service without city water, which shall read as follows: "Effective on the January 10, 1981 billing the monthly rates and charges for sewage disposal services shall be as follows: ---------------------- Ordinance No. 3571 Page One 11-24-80 4 i` (A) In the event that water obtained from other sources than purchased from the city is either,discharged or drained into the sewer system, single-family dwellings and multiple dwelling units shall be charged.by one of two following methods: 1. Eight/ dollars 'and fifty cents per dwelling unit or dwelling space occupied or unoccupied within the corporate city limits and ten dollars and fifty cents per month for each single family residence outside the corporate city limits. 2. The property owner of such private water system, upon explanation to the director of public works, may request a water meter to be installed into such private water system at no cost to the property owner. The method of billing shall be in compliance with subsection B of Section 13.20.480. Other than single-family and multiple dwellings, the director of public works shall install a water meter into such private water system at no cost to property owners and the method of billing shall be in compliance with Section 13.20.480 (B); or where special conditions exist in which said alternatives are considered not practical, the director of public works shall impose a fixed rate of charge to such customer subject to the approval of the city council." Section 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force five (5) days from and after its passage, approval and publication, as provided by law.
