AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
WASHINGTON, AMENDING AUBURN CITY CODE CHAPTER 2.72 ENTITLED
"CEMETERY", AND MORE SPECIFICALLY, AMENDING SECTION 2.72. 305
ENTITLED "WELFARE BURIAL."
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Purpose. The purpose of this Ordinance is to
amend Auburn City Code Chapter 2.72 entitled "Cemetery",
specifically Section 2.72.305 entitled "Welfare Bnrial."
Section 2. i~duended Section. Section 2.72.305 entitled
"Welfare Burial" is hereby amended to read as follows:
2.72.305 Welfare Burials.
From and after the effective date of the ordinancm
codified in this chapter, a person who resides in the
city limits of Auburn at the time of death, and who a~
the time of death is receivin~ State welfare assistance,
will be eligible for a reduction in fees and charges.
A ground burial for an eligible person, in an area
designed bv the Cemetery Board, will be discounted fifty
percent (50%) for Property, opening/closing, and
recording fee.

An inurnment of cremated remains for an eligible person,
in an area desiqnated by the Cemetery Board, without tho
Possibility of disinterment, will be performed at no
cost.
Section 3. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall become
effective within five (5) days from and after its passage,
approval and publication, as provided by law.
