AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, ANNEXING TO
THE CITY THREE PARCELS OF PROPERTY TOTALLING 5.2 ACRES LOCATED
CONTIGUOUS TO THE EASTERN CITY LIMITS, JUST NORTH OF THE
CHINOOK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.
WHEREAS, in accordance with Chapter 35A.14 RCW, the
owners of 94.9% percent of value according to the assessed
valuation for general taxation of certain lands in King
County, Washington, and more particularly described in Section
i of this Ordinance, filed their petition with the City
Council of the City of Auburn, Washington, petitioning to have
annexed to the city of Auburn the said described land; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with
proceedings were held; and
WHEREAS, notice of intention

WHEREAS, the King County Boundary Review Board invoked
its jurisdiction and conducted their own public hearing on May
13, 1993; and
WHEREAS, The King County Boundary Review Board,
subsequent to their hearing conditionally approved the
annexation. It was conditioned upon King County amending the
County Wide Planning Policies to include the subject
annexation within'the County,s Urban Growth Area; and

WHEREAS in November of 1994 the revisions to the County
Wide Planning Policies, which included the amendment to the
Urban Growth Area Boundary to include the proposed annexation,
were ratified and deemed approved; and
WHEREAS, it appears to the City of Auburn, that said
annexation meets the requirements specified by law; the
procedure for the filing with the City of Auburn by the
requisite number of property owners of their notice of
intention to commence annexation proceedings, to and including
the consideration of the passage of this ordinance also meets
the requirements, specified by law; and the lands proposed to
be annexed are contiguous to the City of Auburn and have not
heretofore been incorporated in as a City or Town;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
8eotion ~. That there shall be annexed to the City of
Auburn, Washington, the property situated in the County of
King, State of Washington, which legal description is
described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part
hereof as though set forth in full herein.
Section 2. That the property hereby annexed shall be
assessed and taxed at the same rate and on the same basis as
other property within the City of Auburn is assessed and taxed

to pay for any outstanding general
which the area was annexed.
Section 3. That the annexation of
become effective on the effective date of
the property shall become part of the City
indebtedness of the City to

provided by law.
Section 4. Within ten (10) days after the effective date
of the annexation referred to in this ordinance, the City
Clerk of the City of Auburn shall send to the Office of the
Clerk of the County Council one (1) certified copy of this
Ordinance together with a copy of a letter from the Executive
Secretary of the King County Boundary Review Board, which
letter contains a copy of the decision of the Boundary Review
Board relating to this annexation.
8eotion 5. The City Clerk of the City of Auburn shall
file a certified copy of this Ordinance with the King County
Department of Assessments, Accounting Division.
8eotion 6. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement
such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry
out the directions of this legislation.

Section 7. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force five days from and after its passage, approval and
publication as provided by law.
