HomeMy WebLinkAbout487910 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 ORDINANCE NO. 4 8 7 9 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, AMENDING CHAPTER 13.24 ENTITLED "UTILITY RATE EXEMPTIONS", BY AMENDING SECTION 13.24.010 ENTITLED ~GENERALLY", BY AMENDINO SECTION 13.24.020 ENTITLED ~CONDITIONS", BY AMENDING SECTION 13.24.030 ENTITLED "MINIMUM WATER RATE", BY AMENDING SECTION 13.24.040 ENTITLED SEWER RATE, BY REPEALING SECTION 13.24.045 ENTITLED ~GARBAGE RATES", BY ADDING SECTION 13.24.047 ENTITLED ~SOLID WASTE RATES", BY AMENDING SECTION 13.24.050 ENTITLED "STORM DRAINAGE", BY AMENDING SECTION 13.24.060 ENTITLED "ANNUAL APPLICATION REQUIRED". ((13.2~.0~5 Carbagc rates.)) 13.24.047 Solid waste rate~. 13.24.050 Storm drainage. 13.24.060 Annual application required. 13.24.010 Generally. 10 From and after the effective date of the ordinance codified in 1! this chapter an eligible head of household, whether that individual lives within or without the city limits, may apply 12 for a senior citizen((~)) or disabled citizen((.,s)) rate exemption for water, sewer, ((garbage)) ~ and storm 13 drainage, as applicable((~)) Individuals with a kidney 14 dialysis patient residing in their household may apply for rate exemption which applies to water rates only. All ra~ 15 ~ subject to the following terms and conditions: A. That only one such exemption for each utility service 16 is granted per dwelling unit; 17 B. The exemption set out in ACC 13.24.010 shall be allowed for residential water users and/or for those whose dwellings are connected to the sanitary sewer and/or for those who use the ((~arbage)) ~ or storm drainage service. The utility services referred to in ACC 13.24.010(A) shall serve a location utilized solely for residential purposes and shall not serve a location utilized for other purposes such as a commercial or industrial establishment. 13.24.030 Minimum water rate. The monthly water discount for those qualified ((scnior ~ ...... d) ) citizens who apply for an exemption under the provisions of this chapter shall be ((~)) 80 percent of the ((.,~nlmum .... ~.. ~ .... monthly base charg~ as specified under Chapter 13.04 ACC ((and ^ ~ ...... 1 ...... Ail exemptions from the minimum monthly charges for the specified utilities will be required to be renewed ~ for annually during the month of May. Exemptions for individuals with their own accounts will start with the next billing after May, exemptions for individuals without their own account will be in the form of a rebate for the previous 12 months or any eligible portion thereof for which the applicant can show proof of residency in the household for which the exemption applies in the form of rent receipts.
