HomeMy WebLinkAbout4905 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 ORDINANCE NO. ~ AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON PROVIDING A $3500 WORKING FUND ADVANCE TO THE AUBUP_N DOWNTOWN ASSOCIATION FOR ADMINISTERING PROGRAMS FOR THE BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT AREA AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 4884. WHEREAS, on August 19, WHEREAS, the City Council duly passed Ordinance No. 4884 1996; and Ordinance No. 4884 did not contain all necessary provisions for implementation and for clarification should be repealed; and WHEREAS, the City of Auburn, at the request of downtown business owners, established a Parking and Business Improvement Area in 1988; and WHEREAS, the City of Auburn collects assessments from business owners within the Business Improvement Area and maintains a fund to be used for downtown programs; and the City has a contract with the Auburn Downtown administer the programs for the Business and the Auburn Downtown Association regularly incurs providing these programs and submits invoices WHEREAS, Association to Improvement Area; WHEREAS, expenses in Ordinance NO. 4905 August 22, 1996 Page 1 2 3 4 5 6 ? 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 2O 21 22 23 24 25 26 twice a month to the City for reimbursement for such expenses, at a typical value of about $3500; and WHEREAS, the Auburn Downtown Association needs a workin¢ fund advance to enable the agency to pay their bills in a timely fashion and that the final reimbursement request will be reduced by the amount of the working fund advance. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: ~ City of Auburn Ordinance No. 4884 passed August 19, 1996 is herewith repealed in its entirety. ~ The purpose of this Ordinance is to provide a working fund advance to the Auburn Downtown Association from assessments received by the City of Auburn for the Business Improvement Area. ~ There is herewith established a working fund advance of $3500 to be advanced to the Auburn Downtown Association. These funds will be used exclusively in the administration of the programs for the Business Improvement Area as outlined in the contract between the City of Auburn and the Auburn Downtown Association.
