WHEREAS, in accordance with Chapter 35A.14 RCW, the owners of 100% percent of value according to the assessed valuation for general taxation of certain lands in King County, Washington, and more particularly described in Section 1 of this Ordinance, filed their petition with the City Council of the City of Auburn, Washington, petitioning to have annexed to the City of Auburn the said described land; and WHEREAS, in accordance with Chapter 35A.14 RCW various proceedings were held; and WHEREAS, notice of intention to annex was filed with the King County Boundary Review Board; and WHEREAS, the King County Boundary Review Board the annexation on May 19, 1997; and approved WHEREAS, it appears to the City of Auburn, that said annexation meets the requirements specified by law; the procedure for the filing with the City of Auburn by the Ordinance No. 4979 May 22, 1997 Page 1 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 2O 21 22 23 24 25 26 requisite number of property owners of their notice of intention to commence annexation proceedings, to and including the consideration of the passage of this ordinance also meets the requirements, specified by law; and the lands proposed to be annexed are contiguous to the City of Auburn and have not heretofore been incorporated in as a City or Town; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: ~ That there shall be annexed to the City of Auburn, Washington, the property situated in the County of King, State of Washington, legally described as follows: That portion of the southeast quarter of the southwest quarter of Section 11, Township 21 North, Range 4 East, W.M. described as follows: Lot 4, West Auburn Five Acre Tracts, according to the plat thereof recorded in volume 15 of plats, page 12, in King County, Washington, together with abutting right of way more particularly described as follows; Beginning at a point on the Auburn City Limits as established by City of Auburn Ordinance No. 1913, said point being the northeast corner of the southeast quarter of the southwest quarter of said section; Thence southerly along said Auburn City Limits, also being the east line of said southeast quarter, to the easterly extension of Ordinance No. 4979 May 22, 1997 Page 2 1 2 $ 4 5 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 17 18 19 20 21 25 24 2~ the south line of said lot 4; Thence westerly along said easterly extension to the southwest corner of said lot 4; Thence northerly along the west line of said lot 4 and the northerly extension thereof to a point of intersection with said Auburn City Limits, also being a point on the north line of said southeast quarter; Thence easterly along said north line to the point of beginning. ~ That the property hereby annexed shall be assessed and taxed at the same rate and on the same basis as other property within the City of Auburn is assessed and taxed to pay for any outstanding general which the area was annexed. ~ That become effective on the indebtedness of the City to the annexation of the property will effective date of this Ordinance and the property shall become part of the City of Auburn, subject to all of the laws and ordinances of the City then otherwise provided by law. ~-~ Within ten (10) days after the effective date of the annexation referred to in this ordinance, the City Clerk of the City of Auburn shall send to the Office of the Clerk of the County Council one (1) certified copy of this Ordinance together with a copy of a letter from the Executive Ordinance NO. 4979 May 22, 1997 Page 3 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 2O 21 22 23 24 25 26 Secretary of the King County Boundary Review Board, which letter contains a copy of the decision of the Boundary Review Board relatin9 to this annexation. ~¢~Ltgl~__~_= The City Clerk of file a certified copy of Department of Assessments, ~%_QII_~.
