HomeMy WebLinkAbout49821 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 ORDINANCE NO. 4982 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A GRANT FROM THE TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT BOARD FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF CERTAIN ELEMENTS OF THE AUBURN TRANSIT CENTER. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Auburn must adopt and approve all appropriations by Ordinance pursuant to Chapter 35A.33 RCW; and NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COD-NCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: ~ Pursuant to Chapter 35A.33 RCW, the City Council hereby approves expenditure and appropriation of a grant from the Transportation Improvement Board (TIB) which will be used for the construction of certain elements of the Auburn Transit Center, in the amount of $1,999,980 with $10,300,200 matching funds from the Regional Transit Authority and King County Department of Transportation and authorizes the Mayor to execute an Urban Design Prospectus between the City and the Transportation Improvement Board, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and is incorporated herein by reference. RTA will be the primary sponsor of the project and will be responsible for construction and operation of the commuter rail station and major project elements, King County DOT will fund and operate the major portion of the bus hub and the bus hub portion of the project. City of Auburn, using TIA funds, will assist in the construction of parking, street improvements adjacent to the transit center, and other off-site improvements as required. Preliminary elemental design and budgets have been prepared to ensure that available funds can construct a complete transit center. Final distribution of funds and pementage of participation by agencies in the various cost elements will be determined prior to the beginning of construction phase. Auburn's TIA grant elemental participation will be submitted prior to request for design funds.
