HomeMy WebLinkAbout50141 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 ORDINANCE NO. ~ AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AD'BURN, WASHINGTON, AMENDING CITY CODE CHAPTER 10.24 ENTITLED "ONE WAY STREETS AND ALLEYS", SECTION 10.24.010 ENTITLED nONE-WAY STREETS DESIGNATED" TO PROVIDE FOR THE INTERIM TRANSIT HUB STATION OPERATED BY KING COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND TO UPDATE THE CODE TO REFLECT CURRENT ONE WAY STREET NAMES. WHEREAS, Section 10.24.010 entitled "One-way streets designated" contained in City of Auburn Code Chapter 10.24, entitled "ONE-WAY STREETS AND ALLEYS", provides for the flow of traffic on the section of B Street from East Main to 1st Street Northeast in a northerly direction except for the northerly 33 feet; and WHEREAS, to accommodate the "Interim" South King County Bus Hub and to allocate additional bus stop spaces, it is necessary to reallocate on-street parking and rechannelize the section of B Street from East Main to 1st Street Northeast so that traffic flows in one direction from north to south; and WHEREAS, it is anticipated that the transit hub will eventually relocate to the site on B Street Southwest and 2nd Ordinance No. 5014 August 25, 1997 Page 1 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 Street commuter rail station. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: ~ P~. The purpose of this Ordinance is Southwest in conjunction with construction of the new CITY OF AUBURN, as follows: To amend Section 10.24.010 entitled ~One-way streets designated" contained in City of Auburn Code Chapter 10.24, entitled nONE-WAY STREETS AND ALLEYS", to change the direction of flow of traffic on the section of B Street from East Main to 1st Street Northeast from a northerly direction to a southerly direction. ~ A~lJ~OF AUBUP~N CITY CODE. Section 10.24.010 entitled "One-way streets designated" as contained in Chapter 10.24 entitled "ONE-WAY STREETS AND ALLEYS" are hereby amended as set forth in Exhibit UA" attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference. ~ Constitutionality or section, subsection, clause or phrase of any Invalidity If any this Ordinance is for reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional, such Ordinance NO. 5014 August 25, 1997 Page 2 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 ll 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 2O 21 22 23 24 25 26 invalidity or unconstitutionality shall not affect the validity or constitutionality of the remaining portions of this Ordinance, as it being hereby expressly declared that this Ordinance and each section, subsection, sentence, clause and phrase hereof would have been prepared, proposed, adopted and approved and ratified irrespective of the fact that any one or more section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase be declared invalid or unconstitutional. ~ Amendment of Section 10.24.010 entitled nOne- way streets designated" as contained in Chapter 10.24 entitled "One-way streets and alleys" does not affect existing litigation and does not operate as an abatement or bar to any action or proceeding pending under or by virtue of the amended ordinance. ~ The Mayor is such administrative procedures hereby authorized to implement as may be necessary to carry out the directions of this legislation. Upon those streets and parts of streets described in this section, vehicular traffic shall move only in the indicated direction when signs indicating the direction of traffic are erected and maintained at every intersection where movement in the opposite direction is prohibited, and a vehicle passing around a rotary traffic island shall be driven only to the right of such island: A. 9th Street Southeast, from the west marginal line of "F" Street Southeast to its intersection with (( ........ 5)) A~/~, in a westerly direction; B.
