AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
WASHINGTON, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 5007 BY AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR TO ACCEPT AN ADDITIONAL ONE THOUSAND AND N01100
DOLLARS, THEREBY INCREASING THE TOTAL GRANT AMOUNT OF FOUR
THOUSAND AND N01100 DOLLARS FROM THE WASHINGTON TRAFFIC
SAFETY COMMISSION TO FIVE THOUSAND AND N01100 DOLLARS TO
PROVIDE ENHANCED TRAFFIC LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICE, WITH AN
EMPHASIS PLACED ON DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE (DUI)
ENFORCEMENT, ON THOSE SECTIONS OF ROADWAY INCLUDED IN THE SR
164 CORRIDOR SAFETY PROJECT AND APPROVING THE APPROPRIATION
AND EXPENDITURE OF THE ADDITIONAL ONE THOUSAND AND N01100
DOLLARS IN GRANT FUNDS.
WHEREAS, the Auburn City Council of the City of Auburn
must adopt and approve all appropriations by ordinance
pursuant to Chapter 35A.33 RCW; and
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Auburn City Ordinance No. 5007, passed
August 18, 1997, is hereby amended to reflect the acceptance
of an additional amount of ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1,000.00)
to the FOUR THOUSAND DOLLAR grant previously awarded and
accepted pursuant to Ordinance 5007, and the Agreement
between the Washington Traffic Safety Commission and the
City of Auburn incorporated therein, by authorizing

execution of Amendment 1 to the Agreement between the
Washington Traffic Safety Commission and Auburn Police
Department.
Section 2. Pursuant to Chapter 35A.33 RCW the City
hereby approves the appropriation and expenditure of an
additional amount of ONE THOUSAND and 00/100 DOLLARS
($1,000.00) from the Washington Traffic Safety Commission,
which constitutes additional grant monies, by amending the
Agreement between the Washington Traffic Safety Commission
and Auburn Police Department approved in ordinance 5007, as
set forth in Amendment 111", a copy of which is attached
hereto as Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein by this
reference, to provide enhanced traffic law enforcement
service, with an emphasis placed on DUI enforcement, on
those sections of roadway included in the SR 164 Corridor.
Section 3. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement
such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry
out the directions of this legislation.

Section 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force five (5) days from and after its passage, approval and
publication, as provided by law.

AMENDMENT 1
Washington Traffic Safety Commission
AND
Auburn Police Department
THIS AMENDMENT is made by and between the Washington Traffic Safety
Commission (hereinafter referred to as WTSC) and the Auburn Police Department
(hereinafter referred to APD) for the purpose of amending that document entitled
Agreement Between WTSC and APD, to provide enhanced traffic law enforcement,
with an emphasis placed on DUI enforcement, on those sections of roadway included in
the SR 164 Corridor Safety Project.
It is mutually agreed that the above referenced Agreement is hereby amended as set forth
below:
Work to be billed by invoice with documentation at rate specified in exhibit "C", not
to exceed $5,000 by October 15,199?.
