HomeMy WebLinkAbout5103 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 ORDINANCE NO. 5 i 0 3 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO ENTER INTO AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF RENTON FOR A HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT FOR FIRE TRAINING. WHEREAS, the fire departments throughout the state are required to conduct training; and WHEREAS, fire departments work cooperatively to obtain and provide training; and WHEREAS, RCW 39.34 permits municipalities to enter into interlocal agreements; and WHEREAS, the Renton Fire Department does, from time to time conduct fire training; and WHEREAS, the Renton Fire Department and the City of Renton require agreements from any other fire department that wishes to participate in training conducted by the Renton Fire Department, to hold harmless the City of Renton and the Renton Fire Department; and WHEREAS, the Auburn Fire Department has asked permission of the Renton Fire Department to be allowed access to the training premises for the purpose of participating in fire training; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Ordinance No. 5103 June 1, 1998 Page 1 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 Section 1. Pursuant to Chapter 39.34 RCW the City Council hereby approves the execution of an Interlocal Agreement regarding Hold Harmless Agreement for Fire Training with the City of Renton. hereto as Exhibit "A" reference. Section 2. The Mayor such administrative procedures as may out the directions of this legislation. Section 3. Lee Wheeler, Chief I/~I'ERLOCAL AGREEMENT RE: HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT FOR FIRE TRAINING Whereas, the Fire Departments throughout the state are required to conduct training; and Whereas, Fire Departments work cooperalively to obtain and provide training; and Whereas, R.C.W. 39.34 permils municipalities to enter into interiocal agreements; and Whereas, the Renton Fire Department docs, from time to time conduct fire training; and Whereas, the Renton Fire Department and the City of Rcnton require agreements from any other Fire Department that wishes to participate in training conducted by the Rcnton Fire Department, lo hold harmless the City of Renton and the Renton Fire Department from any and all claims, of whatever nature, which are caused by the negligence of the neighboring fire department, and Whereas, the,Auburn Fire Department has asked permission of the Renton Fire Department to be allowed access to the lraining premises for the purpose of participating in fire training; now, Therefore, in consideration for thc opportunity to participale in the fire training to be conducted by the Renton Fire Department, the City of Auburn hereby agrees to hold harmless and indemnify the City of Renton and the Renton Fire Department from any and all claims, of whatever nature, which may arise due to the negligence of the Auburn Fire Department or thc failure of its equipment, while involved in fire training being conducted by the Renton Fire Department. 3Xlburn , City Clerk , City Attorney THECharles~~ CITY OF A.
