HomeMy WebLinkAbout51061 2 ORDINANCE NO. 5 10 6 3 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, AMENDING 4 ORDINANCE NO. 4952, WHICH ORDINANCE APPROVED THE 1997-1998 APPROPRIATION OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) 5 FUNDS IN 1997, TO REALLOCATE AND REAPPROPRIATE CERTAIN UNUSED CDBG FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF FORTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($40,000) TO BE USED FOR THE 1997-98 CDBG PROGRAM YEAR BUDGET. 7 8 WHEREAS, certain 1997-98 Community Development Block Grant funds 9 appropriated to Auburn Youth Resources remain unused; and 10 WHEREAS, Children's Home Society of Washington, which was originally granted 11 the sum of Eighty Thousand Dollars ($80,000) for its driveway and parking lot improvement 12 13 project in 1997 is in need of additional funds; and 14 WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Auburn and its citizens to amend 15 Ordinance No. 4952 to release and reallocate certain specified unused funds appropriated 1t3 therein and to reallocate and reappropriate those funds in order to address current needs; 17 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, 18 WASHINGTON, DO HEREBY ORDAIN THE FOLLOWING: 19 20 Section 1. Amendment to Ordinance No. 4952. to reallocate and 21 reappropriate Forty Thousand Dollars ($40,000) from Auburn Youth Resources - 22 Building, Improvements, to Children's Home Society - Parkine Lot Improvements in the 1997-98 CDBG program year buds,el. 24 25 Ordinance No. 5106 June 16, 1998 Page I 1 Ordinance No. 4952 approved by the Auburn City Council on March 3, 1997, and 2 published .,~ "'/¢ , 1997, is hereby mended to reallocate and reappropriate 1997-98 3 Community Development Block Grant Funds in the amount of Forty Thousand Dollars 4 ($40,000) allocated to "Auburn Youth Resources: Building Repairs" as provided in Exhibit 5 "A," which is incorporated herein by this reference, to "Children's Home Society: 6 7 Driveway/Parking Lot Improvements," also as provided in Exhibit "A." 8 Section2. The project funds may be used only to complete parking lot improvements and landscaping requirements at the Auburn site of the Children's Home 10 Society of Washington.. 11 Section 3. The project funds must be used to the benefit of low and moderate 12 13 income people. 14 Section 4. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement such administrative 15 procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directives of this legislation. 16 Section 5. Severability. The provisions of this Ordinance are declared to be 17 separate and severable. The invalidity of any clause, sentence, paragraph, subdivision, 18 section or portion of this Ordinance, or the invalidity of the application thereof to any person 19 20 or circumstance shall not affect the validity of the remainder of this ordinance, or the 21 validity of its application to other persons or circumstances. 22 Section 6.
