AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, KING
COUNTY, WASHINGTON, AMENDING CHAPTER 2.78 ENTITLED "FEES FOR
CITY PERMITS AND ACTIONS", SPECIFICALLY 2.78.010 "FEES
4 DESIGNATED", TO ESTABLISH NEW FEES AND TO UPDATE EXISTING
FEES.

WHEREAS, the City has recently adopted a Planned Unit
7 Development (PUD) Ordinance; and
8 WHEREAS administrative fees are necessary to properly
9 review PUD applications and any other land use related
]0 applications the City receives; and

WHEREAS the City does not have a fee schedule for PUD's
and the fees for other land use related applications has not
]3 been substantially changed since 1982; and
WHEREAS the City has compared Auburn's fees with other
15 local jurisdictions and finds the City's fees to be
substantially lower than other jurisdictions; and

WHEREAS it is the City's intent to recover more of the
18
costs of reviewing applications.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,

KING COUNTY, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. Auburn City Code Chapter 2.78 entitled "Fees

for City Permits and Actions" is hereby amended as set forth
on attached Exhibit "A" and made a part thereof as though set

forth in full herein.

! Section 2. The provisions of this ordinance are declared

to be separate and severable. The invalidity of any clause,
sentence, paragraph, subdivision, section or portion of this
4 ordinance, or the invalidity of the application thereof to any
5
person or circumstance shall not affect the validity of the
remainder of this ordinance, or the validity of its
7
application to other persons or circumstances.

Section 3. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement
9
such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry
10
out the directions of this legislation.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force five (5) days from and after its passage, approval and
]4 publication, as provided by law.

FEES FOR CiTY PERMITS AND ACTIONS

On and after the effective date of the ordinance codified in this chapter, there shall
be imposed the following fees charged to individuals requesting the city to take the
actions hereinafter indicated on the following fee schedule:

The fee structure of the current city sign provisions, Chapter 18.56 of the City Code,

A fee shall accompany each application for a sign permit, unless specifically exempt
by Chapter 18.56 ACC. The amount of the fee shall be based upon the value of thn
sign pursuant to the provisions contained within Table l-A, Chapter 1 of the 1997
Uniform Buildin~ Code, as amended, as published by the International Conferencn
of Build ng Officials.

2.78.020 Payment required.
Applications for actions as set forth in ACC 2.78.010 shall not be accepted for filing
