HomeMy WebLinkAbout5789 ORDINANCE NO. 5789 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, AMENDING AUBURN CITY CODE 13.06.360 PERTAINING TO AUBURN WATER RATES WHEREAS, the City of Auburn entered into an interim water sales agreement with Covington Water District and Water District No. 111 in accordance with Resolution No. 3482 dated June 17, 2002; and WHEREAS, the interim water sales agreement contained a provision for "Take or Pay" monthly rates which increased annually; and WHEREAS, rate increases are scheduled to occur January 1, 2004, and January 1, 2005. NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN as follows: Section 1. PURPOSE. The purpose of this amendment is to incorporate a change in the rate for "Take or Pay" water rates for 2004 and 2005 pursuant to the contract approved by Resolution No. 3482. Section 2, AMENDMENT TO WATER RATES That Section 13.06.360 of the Auburn City Code, relating to the City's water rates, is amended to read as follows: 13.06.360 Rates - Generally. Effective July 1, 2002, the monthly rates for water supplied by meter shall be as follows: Customer Class Base Charge Quantity Charge per 100 cubic feet (ccf) Ordinance No. 5789 October 27, 2003 Page 1 Single Family residential $6.95 Multi-Family residential 20.44 Commercial 20.95 Manufacturing/Industrial 20.90 Schools 20.58 City Accounts 20.95 Irrigation Only 6.25 Wholesale ^lgona 32.36 WD #111 and Covington 175.00 $1.40 1.60 1.85 1.44 1.65 1.35 1.55 2.15 1.85 1.06 O.7O 1.85 0.80 0-7 ccf 7.01-15 ccf >15 ccf 1.5 mgd "take or pay" summer over 1.5 mgd winter over 1.5 mgd Provided, however, that 37 percent shall be added to all rates for water service outside the city limits. City of Auburn utility taxes are included in the monthly rate for all customers except wholesale accounts. Wholesale rates exclude the 37 percent out of city service charge and state excise taxes. IMPLEMENTATION, The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directives of this legislation. Section 4. GENERAL SEVERABILITY. If any portion of this Ordinance or its application to any person or circumstances is held invalid, the remainder of the Ordinance or the application of the provision to other persons or circumstances shall not be affected. Section 5. EFFECTIVE DATE. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effective five (5) days from and after its passage, approval, and publication, as provided by law..
