HomeMy WebLinkAbout5917 ORDINANCE NO.5 9 1 7 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, CREATING A NEW SECTION 10.36.346 OF THE AUBURN CITY CODE RELATING TO PROHIBITED PARKING AREAS WHEREAS, the Auburn City Code currently allows parking on the north side of 6th Street NE, from the east curbline of "M" Street NE to the west curbline of 6th Place NE; and WHEREAS, the Auburn City Code currently allows parking on the south side of 6th Street NE, from the east curbline of M Street NE to the west curbline of N Street NE; and WHEREAS, it has been determined that parking in this area is impacting the ability of property owners on 6th Street NE to park in front of their own homes. WHEREAS, it is appropriate to amend the City Code to prohibit parking along the north side of 6th Street NE frorn the east curbline of "M" Street NE to the west curbline of 6th Place NE and on the south side of 6th Street NE from the east curbline of "M" Street NE to the west curbline of "N" Street NE between the hours of 9 AM and 4 PM, except Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN as follows: Section 1. AMENDMENT TO CITY CODE That a new Section 10.36.346 of the Auburn City Code, entitled "No parking between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m." is created to read as follows: 10.36.346 No parking between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. It is unlawful to park any vehicle on the following streets between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., except on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. IMPLEMENTATION. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directives of this legislation. Section 3. GENERAL SEVERABILITY. If any portion of this Ordinance or its application to any person or circumstances is held invalid, the remainder of the Ordinance or the application of the provision to other persons or circumstances shall not be affected. Section 4. EFFECTIVE DATE. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effective five (5) days from and after its passage, approval, and publication, as provided by law.
