HomeMy WebLinkAbout5944 ORDINANCE NO. 5944 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCil OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON ADDING SECTION 13.08.065 TO THE AUBURN CITY CODE RELATING TO FIRE HYDRANT INSTALLATION WHEREAS, the current provisions of the Auburn City Code provide for fire hydrant placement and provide for requirements for development to accommodate fire hydrant needs; and WHEREAS, recent modifications of the city code have occurred so as to warrant a more convenient and clear placement of the fire hydrant requirements in the area of city utilities, and it would be appropriate for the City to adopt a city code section that addresses such fire hydrant provisions; and NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCil OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN as follows: Section 1. New Section to City Code. That a new section 13.08.065 of the Auburn City Code, be, and the same is hereby created to read as follows: 13.08.065 Fire hydrants - installation on existing mains or relocation A fire hydrant may be installed on an existing main, or be relocated, as approved by the City. Hydrants shall be installed or relocated in accordance with the City of Auburn design and construction standards. A written permit is required to install or relocate a hydrant. A permit application and inspection fee shall be charged in accordance with the City of Auburn fee schedule. Section 2. Fee added to City of Auburn Fee Schedule. That the City of Auburn fee schedule shall be amended to include a fire hydrant fee pursuant to ACC 13.08.065 in the amount of $229.00. Ordinance No. 5944 September 2. 2005 Page 1 of 2 Section 3. Implementation. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directions of this ordinance. Section 4. Severabilitv. If any portion of this Ordinance or its application to any person or circumstances is held invalid, the remainder of the Ordinance or the application of the provision to other persons or circumstances shall not be affected. Section 5. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force five (5) days from and after its passage, approval and publication, as provided by law.
