HomeMy WebLinkAbout5967 ORDINANCE NO. 5 9 6 7 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, CREATING A NEW SECTION 10.36.346 OF THE AUBURN CITY CODE RELATING TO NO PARKING BETWEEN 10:00 P.M. AND 6:00 A.M. WHEREAS, the current provision of the Auburn City Code provide for restrictions on parking and limitations on where vehicles may be parked, covering both locations and time periods of such restrictions; and WHEREAS, currently not included in any of those restrictions or limitations are the areas along Green River Road within the City of Auburn and those park properties adjacent to Green River Road, which because of problems should be limited so as to prevent overnight parking. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN as follows: Section 1. Addition of New Section to City Code. That section a new Section 10.36.346 of the Auburn City Code be and the same hereby is created to read as follows: 10.36.346 No parking between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. A. It is unlawful to park any vehicle between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. in the following areas of the City: 1. The roadway and parking areas along Green River Road within the City limits; 2. Any City property, including park property, adjacent to Green River Road within the City limits. B. Notwithstanding any other penalty provision in this Chapter, the penalty for violation of this Section shall be One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) per violation. Each day of such violation shall be a separate violation. Ordinance No. 5967 November 15, 2005 Page 1 Section 2. Implementation. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directions of this legislation. Section 3. Severabilitv. The provisions of this ordinance are declared to be separate and severable. The invalidity of any clause, sentence, paragraph, subdivision, section or portion of this ordinance, or the invalidity of the application thereof to any person or circumstance shall not affect the validity of the remainder of this ordinance, or the validity of its application to other persons or circumstances. Section 4. Effective date. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force five days from and after its passage, approval and publication as provided by law.
