IV. Old Business
A. K Street and 2"d Street Resident Participation
The members discussed their plans to approach the neighbors along these streets to
encourage their agreement to adopt a tree. It would require that they apply for a
Neighborhood Grant, in partnership with the Board, to purchase an agreed-upon species
for their area and to agree to water them until they are established. Letters of
explanation and Bob's businesss cards will be given to the Board members for their use
in explaining the plan and for any questions that need to be answered. Mr. Elliot, Ms.
Wright, Ms: Sundal, and Mr. Landrud agreed to meet next Tuesday, June 10, at 6:00
p.m. to solicit participation. Mr. Wuotila asked them to get names, addresses and
phone numbers for each household that agrees to help.

A. KidsDay
Members were reminded that KidsDay is June 19th at Game Farm Park. We will have
our word search flyers out on the Department information table. It has previously

been found that the attendance at this event is mostly children, and the other
information we hand out is not appropriate for them.
B. 4th of July
This event is a huge draw to Les Gove Park, and again we will have our information
available on the Department information table. Members were encouraged to come
out and enjoy the entertainment, vendors and activities in the park.
C. Dorothy Bothell Park/PSE Trail Planting
Mr. Wuotila explained that he is working on a planting plan for Bothell Park along the
trail. Part of the trail is high enough that it overlooks a few residences, and is
disturbing some of the homeowners. The new planting will provide a barrier to block
out the direct contact without blocking the view.
VI. Board Recommendations/Input
Two London Plane trees at 12 G Street NW were discussed as a potential significant tree. The
homeowner is Marilyn Dollinger. It is approximately 40 inches in diameter and nearly 100 years
old. It was moved and seconded that we recommend them as significant trees based on size
and age. The motion passed unanimously
