A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
WASHINGTON, APPROVING THE PROPOSED BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT AREA
BUDGET FOR THE PERIOD OF JULY 1, 1998 TO JUNE 30, 1999, AS
4 REQUIRED BY ORDINANCE NO. 4293.

WHEREAS, City of Auburn Ordinance No. 4293 approved July
5, 1988 established the Auburn Central Business District
7
Improvement Area (BIA) and set in place a mechanism for
8
9 collecting and depositing BIA assessments in a special fund
reserved for BIA Use; and
10
11 WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 4686 reaffirmed the establishment
of the BIA; and
12
WHEREAS, Section 4 of Ordinance No. 4293, as required by
14 RCA 35.87A, requires that the BIA budget be approved each year
15 by the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the annual report and proposed budget have been
17 received by the City, as prescribed by Section 4 of Ordinance
18 4293; and
19 WHEREAS, City Council conducted a public hearing on the
20 proposed budget on July 6, 1998; and
WHEREAS, the budget proposed by the BIA Committee of
22 Ratepayers falls within the guidelines established by
23 Ordinance No. 4293.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
WASHINGTON, IN A REGULAR MEETING DULY ASSEMBLED, HEREWITH
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
4 Section 1. The proposed budget of the Auburn Central
5 Business District Business Improvement Area, (BIA) for the
6 period July 1, 1998 to June 30, 1999 is hereby approved by the
7 City Council of the City of Auburn. A copy of said budget is
8 attached hereto, denominated as Exhibit "A" and incorporated
herein. A copy of the Auburn Downtown Association proposed

budget for fiscal year 1998-99 showing combined funding
sources, including BIA funds, is attached hereto, and

denominated as Exhibit "B".
Section 2. An annual report for the Auburn Central

Business District Business Improvement Area, (BIA) for the
period July 1, 1997 to June 30, 1998 is hereby approved by the
City Council of the City of Auburn. A copy of said annual

report is attached hereto, denominated as Exhibit "C" and
incorporated herein.

8ectlon 3. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement
20
21 such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry
22 out the directives of this legislation.
