A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
WASHINGTON, RELATING TO ITS INTENTION TO ANNEX CERTAIN
PROPERTY, LOCATED ON THE SOUTHWEST PORTION OF THE LEA HILL
POTENTIAL ANNEXATION AREA.
WHEREAS, the City of Auburn, Washington, has received Application
No. ANX0003-98 petitioning the City to annex a 453-acre area of land located
on Lea Hill, generally bounded by the Green River on the South and West, by
Lea Hill Road/SE 31 2th Street on the West and North, and 116m Avenue SE on
the East; and
WHEREAS, at the regular City Council meeting held July 6, 1998, the
City Council authorized City staff to prepare the necessary annexation petition
stating that said area, if annexed by the City of Auburn, will assume the pro rata
portion of the existing bonded indebtedness of the City of Auburn; and
WHEREAS, on September 2, 1999, the petition was received by the City
of Auburn, which petition was signed by the property owners, representing more
than 60% of the valuation of the property lying within the limits of the proposed
area to be annexed, according to the assessed valuation for general taxation;
and

WHEREAS, said petition was certified by the King County Assessor on
September 9th, 1999; and
WHEREAS, on November 1, the Auburn City Council scheduled a public
hearing to be held on December 6, 1999; and
WHEREAS, on December 6, 1999 the City Council held a public hearing.
at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Auburn City Hall, at which time the
City Council recommended approval of said annexation;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
WASHINGTON, IN A REGULAR MEETING DULY ASSEMBLED, HEREWITH
RESOLVES THAT:
Section 1. City Staff is hereby instructed to file the Notice of Intention to
Annex with the King County Boundary Review Board.
SeCtion 2. The City of Auburn hereby requests the King County
Boundary Review Board to approve the annexation of a 453-acre area of land
located on Lea Hill, generally bounded by the Green River on the South and
West, by Lea Hill Road/SE 312th Street on the West and North, and 116th
Avenue SE on the East.
Section 3. The City Council finds that the annexation is consistent with
the City of Auburn's goals and policies related to annexations as enumerated in
Resolution 3135

Chapter 13 of the City's Comprehensive Plan.
Section 4. The City'Council further finds that the annexation is
consistent with the COmprehensive Land Use Plan of the City for orderly and
controlled growth, and accomplishes the purposes and objectives specified in
RCW36.93.010 based on the facts herein.
Section 5. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement such
administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directives of
this legislation.
