HomeMy WebLinkAbout3144 RESOLUTION NO. 3 14 4 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 3029 PASSED DECEMBER 21, 1998, AND DESIGNATING THE MEMBERS, POWERS, DUTIES AND MEETING TIMES AND DAYS OF ALL STANDING COMMITTEES OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN FOR THE YEAR 2000. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WAS~[INGTON, IN A REGULAR MEETING DULY ASSEMBLED, HEREWITH RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Auburn Resolution No. 3029 dated December 21, 1998, is hereby repealed effective December 31, 15,99. Section 2. The Standing Committees of the City Council for the City of Auburn, Washington for the year 2000 are as follows: A. PUBLIC WORKS: RICH WAGNER (Chair), FRED POE (Vice Chair), and PETE LEWIS (member). SCOPE: Makes recommendations to the City Council as a whole on policies relating to water and sanitary sewer utilities, storm drainage, streets and policy matters involving construction, building inspection, engineering, and equipment maintenance and operations. This Committee will coordinate equipment rental matters with the Finance Committee and utility and streets property matters with the Municipal Services Committee. B. FINANCE: JEANNE BARBER (Chair), PETE LEWIS (Vice Chair), and STACEY BROTHERS (member). ReSolution No. 3144 December 9, 1999 Page 1 SCOPE: In addition to the normal monitoring of the financial expenditures of the approved budget, this Committee will make recommendations to the City Council as a whole on policies relating to 'personnel., municipal court and legal. C. PLANNING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT: TRISH BORDEN (Chair), SUE SINGER (Vice Chair), and FRED POE (member). SCOPE: Makes recommendations to the City Council as a whole on policies relating to land use planning', zoning, annexation, human services, parks and recreation, arts, museum, library, senior center. D. MUNICIPAL SERVICES: SUE SINGER (Chair), RICH WAGNER (Vice Chair), and TRISH BORDEN (member). SCOPE: Makes recommendations to the City Council as a whole on policies relating to police and fire, jurisdiction of all public buildings for the maintenance and construction (exclusive of utility buildings), emergency planning, cable TV, telecommunications, solid waste, airport, golf course, cemetery, and City real property transactions including sale, lease, right-of-way use, acquisition, and donations. This committee will coordinate property transactions with other appropriate Council Committees. MAYOR PRO TEM and COUNCILMEMBER-AT-LARGE: JEANNE BARBER. Resolution No. 3144 December 9, 1999 Page 2 Section 3. The Council Committee Chairman shall call meetings and chair said meetings and cause minutes of said meetings to be available in a timely fashion and shall schedule at least one meeting per month. It shall be the discretionary power of the Chairman of each Committee to require any appointive or salaried City employee to attend Committee meetings. Section 4. Unless otherwise designated by the Chairman, the day and time of the meetings of the Standing Committees of the City Council of the City of Auburn shall be as follows: A. PUBLIC WORKS: 4:30 P.M. Second and fourth Mondays of each month. B. FINANCE: 6:30 P.M. First and third Mondays of each month. C. PLANNING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT: 6:30 P.M. Second and fourth Mondays of each month. D. MUNICIPAL SERVICES: 6:00 P.M. First and third Mondays of each month. Section 5. Any outside work performed by City employees shall be reviewed and approved according to Resolution No. 3144 December 9, 1999 Page 3 procedures established in Policy No. 200-~L6, "Outside Emplo~ent". Section 6. The Mayor Pro Tem shall serve as an ex officio of all standing Committees of the City Council. As Mayor Pro Tem, Councilmember Barber will serve as an alternate to all Council Committees. Section 7. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directives of this legislation.
