HomeMy WebLinkAbout3157 RESOLUTION NO. 3 15 7 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT DURING THE YEAR 2000 BETWEEN THE CITY OF AUBURN AND VALLEY CITIES COUNSELING AND CONSULTATION TO PROVIDE HEALTH AND WELLNESS SERVICES TO OLDER ADULTS IN THE AUBURN AREA. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, IN A REGULAR MEETING DULY ASSEMBLED, HEREWITH RESOLVES THAT: Section 1. The Mayor and City Clerk of the City of Auburn are herewith authorized to execute a Memorandum of Agreement during the year 2000 between the City of Auburn and Valley Cities Counseling and Consultation (VCCC) to provide psychiatric health and wellness services to older adults in the Auburn area. A copy of said Agreement is attached hereto and denominated Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein. Section2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directives of this legislation. Reynolds, City Attorney Resolution No. 3157 January 11, 2000 Page 2 of 2 MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT This Memorandum of Agreement is between Valley Cities Counseling and Consultation, (VCCC), a provider of comprehensive psychiatric and mental health services, and the City of Auburn. VCCC has an established history of providing comprehensive psychiatric and mental health services, and is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (JCAHO). VCCC received a grant award from the United Way of King County's South Community Council Venture Funds to provide services to needy older adults who are unable to access and/or are ineligible for subsidized services. VCCC would use a portion of these grant funds to provide services to participants of the Auburn Senior Center. An additional focus of the project will be to provide education, training, and outreach, with regard to mental illness and treatment issues, to staff of Senior Centers. With regard to the above project goals, VCCC agrees to provide the following: Culturally competent services. Services that are individualized to client needs. Formal and informal training and outreach sessions for Senior Center staff. o:o Referral of appropriate clients to the Senior Center for programs and services, including, but not limited to, the Senior Wellness Project. Liability insurance as it relates to VCCC staff and services provided at the Senior Center and indemnification to hold the City of Auburn harmless of any claims related to VCCC activities. The City of Auburn agrees to: Provide group and private meeting space for VCCC staff according to a mutually agreed upon schedule for above services. Charles A.
