HomeMy WebLinkAbout3167 RESOLUTION NO. 3 16 7 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, RELATING TO ITS INTENTION TO ANNEX CERTAIN PROPERTY, NEXT TO THE SOUTHERN BOUNDARY OF THE AUBURN GOLF COURSE, AND LOCATED ALONG THE GREEN RIVER ROAD. WHEREAS, the City of Auburn, Washington, has received Application No. ANX0001-99 petitioning the City to annex 22.5 acres of land located adjacent to the Auburn Golf Course; and WHEREAS, at the regular City Council meeting held April 7, 1999, the City Council authorized City staff to prepare the necessary annexation petition stating that said area, if annexed by the City of Auburn, will assume the pro rata portion of the existing bonded indebtedness of the City of Auburn; and WHEREAS, on December 13, 1999, the petition was received by the City of Auburn, which petition was signed by the property owners, representing more than 60% of the valuation of the property lying within the limits of the proposed area to be annexed, according to the assessed valuation for general taxation; and WHEREAS, the Auburn City Council scheduled a public hearing on January 3, 2000; and WHEREAS, on January 18, 2000 the City Council held a public hearing at Resolution 3167 February 2, 2000 Page 1 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Auburn City Hall, at which time the City Council recommended approval of said annexation; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, IN A REGULAR MEETING DULY ASSEMBLED, HEREWITH RESOLVES THAT: Section 1. City Staff is hereby instructed to file the Notice of Intention to Annex with the King County Boundary Review Board. . Section 2. The City of Auburn hereby requests the King County Boundary Review Board to approve the annexation of a 22.5 acre area of land located adjacent to the Auburn Golf Course. Section 3. The City Council finds that the annexation is consistent with the City of Aubum's goals and policies related to annexations as enumerated in Chapter 13 of the City's Comprehensive Plan. Section 4. The City Council further finds that the annexation is consistent with the Comprehensive Land Use Plan of the City for ordedy and controlled growth, and accomplishes the purposes and objectives specified in RCW36'.93.010 based on the facts herein. Section 5. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directires of Resolution 3167 February 2, 2000 Page 2 this legislation.
