HomeMy WebLinkAbout3172 RESOLUTION NO. 3 17 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH AUBURN YOUTH RESOURCES FOR SUPPORT SERVICES FOR YOUTH AND FAMILIES IN THE AUBURN COMMUNITY DURING THE YEAR 2000. WHEREAS, the City of Auburn has contracted with Auburn Youth Resources, a non profit organization, since 1980 to provide support services to youth and families in the Auburn community; and WHEREAS, the City wishes to continue the support of Auburn Youth Resources; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, KING COUNTY, WASHINGTON, IN A REGULAR MEETING DULY ASSEMBLED, HEREWITH RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The Mayor and City Clerk of the City of Auburn, Washington, are hereby authorized to enter into an Agreement with Auburn Youth Resources to provide support services for youth and families in the Auburn community including youth referred from the Auburn School District, Auburn Police Department, the Auburn Juvenile Court Conference Committee, and area churches and community organizations for the year 2000. A copy of the Resolution No. 3172 January 25, 2000 Page 1 Agreement is attached and is designated as Exhibit "A" and is incorporated by reference in this Resolution. Section 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement. such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directires of this legislation. DATED and SIGNED this ,j-),D,'~ day of February, 2000. Reynolds, City Attorney Resolution No. 3172 January 25, 2000 Page 2 AGREEMENT FOR SERVICES THIS AGREEMENT is entered into this ,,~--J"~ day of ~-~-/-~-~/ ,2000 and between the CITY OF AUBURN, a municipal corporation of the State of Washington, hereafter referred to as "CITY", and AUBURN YOUTH RESOURCES, a non profit corporation organized under the laws of the State of Washington, and located at 816 "F" Street S.E., Auburn, Washington, hereafter referred to as "AYR". In consideration of the mutual covenants and conditions of this Agreement, the parties agree as follows: I. PURPOSE. AYR is a non profit, community based family counseling agency whose purpose is to assist youth -- by providing a variety of services to them and their families towards becoming healthy, effective, loving, and self-directed adults, especially through a therapeutic counseling mode. AYR also provides necessary additional support services for youth and families and has contracted with the CITY for the past seventeen years to provide support for youth referred from the Auburn School District, Auburn Police Department, the Auburn Juvenile Court Conference Committee, Auburn area churches, businesses and organizations and Auburn area parents and other concerned adults as well as youth themselves with whom AYR directly works.
