HomeMy WebLinkAbout3197 RESOLUTION NO. 3 I 9 7 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, SETTING FORTH THE CITY'S INTENT TO ANNEX CERTAIN PROPERTY KNOWN AS THE "P-4" PARK PROPERTY FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES. WHEREAS, the City of Auburn has acquired the "P-4" park property, an approximate 40 acre parcel of property located on the south side of the City, in Pierce County, and noncontiguous to the City of Auburn; and WHEREAS, the property obtained is to be used for municipal park purposes and therefore is for a municipal purpose; and WHEREAS, in accordance with RCW 35A.14.300 the City Council may by majority vote annex such property for a municipal purpose when owned by the City; and WHEREAS, the subject property was acquired by the City on February 22, 2000. NOW, THEREFORE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, IN A REGULAR MEETING DULY ASSEMBLED, HEREWITH RESOLVES THAT: Section 1. The City of Auburn intends to annex, for municipal purposes, that property known as the "P-4" park property which is not adjacent to the south City of Auburn city limits, which is legally described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and incorporated by reference as if set out in full. That the Planning Department is hereby instructed to forward notice of intent to annex to the Washington State Boundary Review Boundary Review Board for Pierce County. Section 3. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directives of this legislation. DATED and SIGNED this ,~ay ~ 2000.
