HomeMy WebLinkAbout3220 RESOLUTION NO. 3 2 2 0 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, RELATING TO ITS INTENTION TO ANNEX CERTAIN PROPERTY, LOCATED ON 28418 85th AVENUE SOUTH. WHEREAS, the City of Auburn, Washington, has received Application No. ANX0002-99 petitioning the City to annex 1.5 acres of land located on 28418 85th Avenue South; and WHEREAS, the subject parcel is also part of an unincorporated area which the City has been working on annexing; and WHEREAS, at the regular City Council meeting held May 1, 2000, the City Council authorized City staff to stating that said area, to prepare the necessary annexation petition stating that said area, if annexed by the City of Auburn, will assume the pro rata portion of the existing bonded indebtedness of the City of Auburn; and WHEREAS, on June 22, 1999, the petition was received by the City of Auburn, which petition was signed by the property owners, representing 100% of the valuation of the property lying within the limits of the proposed area to be annexed, according to the assessed valuation for general taxation; and WHEREAS, on May 1, 2000 the City Council held a public hearing at Resolution 3220 May 9, 2000 Page 1 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Auburn City Hall, at which time the City Council recommended approval of said annexation; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, IN A REGULAR MEETING DULY ASSEMBLED, HEREWITH RESOLVES THAT: Section 1. City Staff is hereby instructed to file the Notice of Intention to Annex with the King County Boundary Review Board. Section 2. The City of Auburn hereby requests the King County Boundary Review Board to approve the annexation of a 1.5 acre area of land located at on 28418 85th Avenue South. Section 3. The City Council finds that the annexation is consistent with the City of Auburn's goals and policies related to annexations as enumerated in Chapter 13 of the City's Comprehensive Plan. Section 4. The City Council further finds that the annexation is consistent with the Comprehensive Land Use Plan of the City for orderly and controlled growth, and accomplishes the purposes and objectives specified in RCW36.93.010 based on the facts herein. Section 5. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement such Resolution 3220 May 9, 2000 Page 2 administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directives of this legislation.
