A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, KING
COUNTY, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE DONATION OF SURPLUS
SELF CONTAINED BREATHING APPARATUS (SCBA'S) AND RELATED
EQUIPMENT WHICH IS NO LONGER AUTHORIZED FOR USE IN THE
UNITED STATES AND WHICH HAS BEEN DECLARED SURPLUS
PROPERTY TO THE CITY OF ZIHUATENEJO, MEXICO.
WHEREAS, the City OF Zihuatenejo, Mexico is in need of Self
Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA'S), which are no longer authorized for
use in the U.S. and which have been surplused, has requested the City of
Auburn to donate the surplused SCBA'S so the SCBA'S can be used in life
saving efforts in the City of Zihuatenejo in Mexico and in the surrounding
communities; and
WHEREAS, the City of Auburn has declared these Self Contained
Breathing Apparatus (SCBA'S) as surplus equipment as SCBA'S are no longer
authorized for use in the United States; and
WHEREAS, ALASKA AIRLINE COMPANY has agreed to fly the
equipment to Zihuatenejo, Mexico at no cost to the City of Auburn;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
WASHINGTON, IN A REGULAR MEETING DULY ASSEMBLED, HEREWITH
RESOLVES:

Section 1. The City of Auburn is hereby authorized to donate the Self
Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA'S) and related equipment declared
surplus and no long authorized for use in the United States, be donated to the
City of Zihuatenejo, Mexico.
Section 2. A list of the Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA
and related equipment declared surplus is attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and
made a part hereof as though set forth in full herein.
Section 3. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement such
administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directives of
this legislation.
